Wedding Ceremony vs Real Marriage | Fridays with Tab and Chance

Todays episode we are talking about the difference between a wedding ceremony and theatrics vs actual marriage. Marriage is a beautiful thing. These days with social media it seems more people are focused on the how the wedding ceremony looks and are spending less time planning and focused for their marriage. Do you agree? Lets get into it!

We got married in the living room of our then townhouse. I was washing dishes and the pastor rung the doorbell. That was 16 years ago. And you have to also learn how to keep some stuff sacred and private. Everyone does not need to know everything or see every photo or know every trip you take. Marriage is sacred. Its depth. It’s maturing and growing as a unit and as individuals. It’s love when love doesn’t look like unicorns and sparkles.

Chance really snapped on the part about investing in the couple! And not showing up to a wedding empty handed❤ I would also love if you guys did an episode on "People not wishing you well" you touched on it a little bit in terms of the wedding, but can you do an episode maybe talking what it's like to be in your marriage or relationship with family or friends that aren't happy for you? Or are judgemental about your relationship.

However, we had a beautiful 20th vow renewal, and that's when we spent money. In short, a nice wedding is great, but what's more important is investing in your marriage (key- invite God into your marriage). 🎉

We faced challenges that were unexpected including my health challenges, raising children and finding out who we are and who each other is. That’s not as easy as you think. Trust in God helped our marriage . The beauty of the wedding alone will not help the marriage survive because a wedding is superficial but BABY making a marriage survive is supernatural and requires understanding divine intervention. And also include picking your battles is majorly important too. Some people stay in abusive marriages for so long they forget themselves. You have a choice always to pick up and leave or stay and continue to be mistreated.Leaving doors open is waaay more miniscule than being with someone who doesnt like to wash, clean up or is overall unsanitary.

May you and your divine spouse find, recognize and love each other...soon. Amn. May your love of God and each other illuminate your lives and be a testimony that encourages others. On a particular Judge show the bride was asked are you happy with your marriage, she was so focused on an issue that happened at the wedding it appeared she didn’t understand that it wasn’t all about her wedding and it was that she was happy with her marriage. So the judge told her to “look happy” I have been married 46 years and it has been for better or worse. Invest your money in the best marriage counseling and marriage retreats. Marriage is beautiful, but it is work! Pray with and for your spouse.

With my first wedding I and my family did all the decorations. Had my dress made by a friend, food catering by a relative. Performed in a small church. When I get married again I don't even need that much. I just need someone that he and I are on the same page striving for the same goals for the rest of our lives together. I don't even need a social media display to a million people I don't even know.

Hi Ms. Tab and Mr. Chance! My name is Ky and was wondering if you could speak more about the fear of getting married due to negative family members comments or brokenness or broken marriages! My husband and I had to cut off our entire family on both sides due to this and never had a wedding and just got married at the court house🥰we now have a beautiful daughter and have been happily married for one year! Thank you ☺️
