    Very generous offer I would say but cheap paint work. I took a car into wbac and they offered me £50!!!. Hard to believe when scrap value was £350. Waste of time. Great tip on the water tank, will need to remember that one when I buy a car, next time. Great vid

    I was in the fiesta owner's club and one of the other members took his car to We Buy Any Car, it was an early fiesta in showroom condition an low mileage. They offered him £200 for the car, which he turned down. He sold it as a private sale a few days later for £2.5k.

    Good video guys 👍🏼😁. I’ve heard that WeBuyAnyCar stitch people up once they inspect your car. I’ve just bought another car, but I’ve decided not to take the trade-in value offered against my 23k miles 2017 Mercedes 2.1 diesel. I’ve avoided WBAC completely, even though they’d really struggle to find anything wrong with it. I’ve looked at Motorway and Carwow so far where they auction to dealers of course. You were right when you referred to the Fiat 500 as a “stock car”. It looked like it’d been in a stock car race, but great job with the repairs 👍🏼😊 As for the Ford Ranger, to make you travel all that way for something that clearly had a major issue with the engine is disgusting. Serious misrepresentation!!!

    If WBAC do as you say as a matter of routine, then they are depending on a trading model which is very close to the line in terms of legality. Taking a legitimate profit which reflects work done on the vehicle, is a totally different business approach. Punters do need to learn to walk away, as you did, despite the travel and other inconveniences. Informative video. Thanks!

    I don't get why people slate w,b,a,c. If you give them an honest description they quote the price they'll pay when you show up with the car. I've dealt with them twice before covid and broke even with 1 car and made £1200 on another. If you don't know how to use it properly it's all you can expect really.

    I agree. Have used them twice and spot on with values and actually increased one on inspection as I’d missed a couple of extras! Many people have a ridiculously over-ambitious idea of the value of their old car, basing it on high-end retail prices they’ve seen on a forecourt. That’s not how it works! 👍

  • @DaleSteel

    @DaleSteel

    @claywalsh6817 oh yeah. To someone selling from home not running a business it is. There's 2 guys taking a profit. Company overheads. Advertising costs, insurances, list goes on. I could buy from expensive BCA and make £1300 without having hassle of having to spend time viewing car, talking to seller, the unknown risk then having to organise a repair. That car is bad business and a bad use of time. I professional car dealer wouldn't consider it a success I wouldn't anyway.

  • @claywalsh6817

    @claywalsh6817

    19 күн бұрын

    @@DaleSteel In that respect, then it’s the amount of cars needed to sell is a priority in order to earn a decent living. £1300 a week selling from home isn’t a given as we’d all be doing it without the business costs. Selling from home is more like £400 a week if you’re lucky enough to get the stock and clientele. They don’t have the unit for lots of stock either, so any sale to build their business is all good. They’re getting noticed in the trade, to me that’s just as important.

    Well done on the Ford Ranger exposure guys, how they did not know that issue is surprising! Well done on the Fiat auto, fabulous little car and hard to find, the body job was a great price and what looks like great work and a very happy buyer will be found. These car buying companies do exactly what you said, I used one to get rid of a great running and superb car BUT had had issues with it, not WBAC but another team, did exactly what you said, great price by email and then the reality BUT as I had had problems I let it go and never looked back. The profit on the Fiat is acceptable especially for the old saying, Small profit quick turnover!

    Nah they definitely lowball 🤷🏽‍♂️ in early 2020 I got offered just under £4k by WBAC for my ST180, got offered £6.5k by Arnold Clark & then offered £7.4k from Evans Halshaw (which I took) - this was all on the same day & all of these companies operate similarly (none of them would be likely to retail the car given it's age at the time). WBAC knocked almost £4k off my ST180 🤣 their 'repair prices' are absolutely made up 🤡 by comparison, Arnold Clark knocked £1000 off their initial valuation & Evans Halshaw knocked £30 off

  • @stephenduguid9305

    @mikey_bb obviously can't comment on the condition of your car but the one in the video was definitely fair to knock a grand off by wbac, assuming that the online quote was based on a grade 1 car. All the wbac reps are allowed to do is grade the cars from 1 to 5 so if someone is deluded and say their car is in excellent condition when it's actually less than grade 3 then expect a low ball, they can only make money if it does better at BCA than they have paid and used car dealers are going to knock just the same as wbac off their max bids.

  • @mikey_bb

    @mikey_bb

    19 күн бұрын

    @@stephenduguid9305 my ST180 had a few little scuffs to 2 wheels & a few stone chips to the bonnet. WBAC made out it was absolutely battered & effectively needed a full respray (which we all know they wouldn't do before sale). They knocked more of for the damaged wheels to 'refurb them' than it cost to actually replace them brand new from Ford 🤦🏾‍♂️

  • @stephenduguid9305

    @stephenduguid9305

    19 күн бұрын

    @@mikey_bb all their purchases go straight to their sister company BCA and auctioned in the same condition as they buy it. So to make any margin they have to offer less than an auction buyer would pay, so they effectively have to deduct the same if not more for any repairs than the used car dealers would at auction. If your car is grade 1 then wbac will give you the quoted price, if its not then don't bother with them as you will be disappointed by the harsh offers they have to make because of who they are trying to pass the cars onto. Wbac are selling on to the bottom of the food chain when it comes to used cars and their margins are small, you only have to see how much money they lost last year.
