Thank you Dick! I have been feeling pretty isolated and helpless and this practice allowed me to feel connected and to believe that we have accomplished something by bringing more Self energy to the world. Blessing to all.

Thank you so very much for posting this replay so promptly, as I missed the live version last night. I've heard a phrase, "foxhole prayer", referring to people only considering the spiritual, calling out to a god or higher power only when in great fear or pain. I would guess that many, many people all over the world are now surrendering to things Spiritual. And like you say, getting through these terrible, scary circumstances with Courage, Clarity, with Self - the Spirit within all of us. I'm immensely grateful to have IFS tools, especially today!! Thank you, thank you!!

Thank you for this soothing IFS guided partswork! I have been using IFS with all of my panicked and anxious clients sheltering at home; it has been really effective at calming them down. They've been thanking me with such gratitude, but the real thanks goes to you!

You spoke my words for where we are with the silver lining. My parts are much more free today. That allows for Self to be more free and have more space. Love and agree with your excerpt.

Thank you, Dick. Chris and I are both experiencing profound Self-led ripple effects in the communities we serve and the communities with which we identify. As part of my work bringing Self leadership to business, I am launching a 12-session Zoom series on "Leadership in a Global Crisis" featuring corporate leaders across multiple domains. Your webinar reminded me of the relevance of IFS at the level of any human system. Our work on our Selves ripples out to our loved ones, our communities, and our world. We stand committed to deepening our work as "hope merchants" and spreading your message everywhere we go. Deep thanks. Much love.

This was extraordinarily helpful. I provide IFS tx. to my clients throughout the week, but I really needed to take time to be a receiver at this time to increase presence of Self, compassion, and love. Thank you.

Thank you Dick for such authentic and deep leadership through sharing wisdom and vulnerability. I have missed being in community with IFS people at this time, and look forward to when we can gather in person again. The model has been my rudder moving through these roiling seas. Wishing you and Jeanne and your loved ones safety, health, and growth. I love the reminder of how our collective unblending and Self energy heals the world.

The exercise was very helpful Dick, your pace worked fine for me. Got in touch with a controlling part, and as I tried to access self, I became aware that that I if come from self, I would have to trust others. This got me in touch with a 5 year old that didn't trust my parents to give me healthy guidance, so I had the false notion that I had to take control..... It helped to appreciate and love my 5 year old that had to work so hard all my life.....Thank you!

I'll need to work some more with it but just wanted to thank you for your generosity, and your presence that certainly reverberates throughout the session. Much love.

I can not thank you enough. I was very recently really introduced to IFS at the 2 day seminar on July 27 and 28th. I already know more about myself and have in small ways incorporated parts of the model seamlessly into the therapy of some clients. Wishing I could put work on hold to learn as much about IFS as I am able. I tend to think a lot about systems: micro and macro and so appreciate how you embrace parts and whole and teach us to do the same. Wishing you good health and safety.

I would love to have easier access to a L1 training. I live in the Atlanta area and the one in the southeast fills up quicker than I can jump in. I feel like a discouraged/ hopeless part comes up every time I think about how to get that training. Thank you for doing this meditation.

Thank you, I’m currently doing IfS with my therapist. It is so amazing. My question is: for someone that is severely ill can this therapy work for total remission? 🙏🏼is it possible that parts can make you ill?

For those familiar with IFS, are you able to isolate different parts of yourself to the extent you are able to talk to them? That is not how I experience myself at all or reality. I tell myself negative things for sure but it all feels like me. Or, it feels like me having a conversation with myself, I suppose. The idea of separate parts that are independent of me is not what I experience at all.

I'm new to IFS, but have some experience with identifying that negative self talk you referred to as coming from outside. It was through the exercises in a well known older book called The Artist's Way that I came to realize that the negative self talk that plagued me was really the voice of key people from my childhood, from whom I heard a lot of hurtful criticism. It was helpful for me, once I realized it, to try to think of that voice as an outsider, so I could then compare my own thoughts about myself, with the automatic negative ones, and question their validity.

I think that framing contradictory internal thoughts, feelings, intentions, agendas, etc. as different “parts” of yourself may feel like a new idea at first, perhaps even a strange one. I do think that as you continue to open yourself up to this idea, it will likely feel more comfortable and resonate more with you. To me, it makes sense based on many years of resonating with concepts of “inner critic,” “wounded child,” etc, based on certain thought and behavior patterns. I know that those “voices” inside me cannot really BE me because I am not always that way, and because there is not unity between those thoughts/behaviors and other thoughts/behaviors, so they must be “parts” of me. The idea of establishing a dialogue between the various parts in order to increase understanding of the function of thought and behavior patterns makes a lot of sense because it can facilitate a sense of inner unity and inner peace.
