I love the whole setup, thank you very much, I had no idea how to achieve it. The only issue I ran into, was a download speed of 700kb/s (incognito browser test). My NAS is connected via Ethernet to my router. I have an upload speed of around 900mbps. I will make some other tests but it needs to be as fast as possible otherwise what would be the sense of it. Any feedback and help is appreciated.

At work the qnap is mapped as shared drive an dlife is excellent. But now they want to have the same access remotely from home or hotels. what is the best way to acheive this without going to web access or sophisticated VPN or portforwarding. Many thanks.

I’m unable to configure QVPN to access my files remotely on my Mac, and I’m using Starlink at the office

You mentioned that the Qnap CloudLink server routes data from your QNAP to the intended device while encrypting the data and stores it for a short time before purging it. How often does this purge occur? Could that data be captured by QNAP somehow and decrypted? I'm setting this up for a company that needs to protect its intellectual property. Is there a way to request a purge of any data that has gone through QNAP cloud link servers as well as any logs associated with the QID?

Hi, tomlow7413 The QNAP servers will only be used for routing the data so it only passes through the servers. And when possible it will even bypass the servers completely, using an encrypted peer to peer connection instead.

Hi, maksudsharipov2046. Thank you for the question. You can use our file synchronization app Qsync Central for file synchronization in general. To open up access outside your network you can use either myQNAPcloud Link or if you need to share larger files you can set up a VPN for access to your NAS. For more hands on assistance feel free to file a support ticket here: service.qnap.com/en-us/home.

Hi, Vimal. Thank you for letting us know. myQNAPcloud Link does not enable remote access for FTP applications because FTP typically requires forwarding port 21. For File Zilla or any other FTP application to avoid port forwarding, you can consider setting up the NAS as a VPN server and using the encrypted VPN connection to facilitate remote access for FTP applications.
