On January 31, Autocar Professional hosted a webinar on the subject - Future Disruptions in Automotive Design with Autodesk Studio tools. The session was powered by Autodesk, and focused on the global automotive design trends that are being fueled by the shift towards sustainable mobility solutions, changing consumer preferences, as well as supply chain constraints.
Samarth Gupta, Industrial Design Specialist, Autodesk, gave a peek of the future trends with his detailed presentation. The session was moderated by Mayank Dhingra, Assistant Editor, Autocar Professional.

Biomimmicry is not new. Sustainability balanced with production feasibility and demand etc. must also be maintained. Timeless design is nearly extinct now as rapid changes in tech and human behavior renders timelessness obsolete. SUVs were gaining serious popularity even before COVID showed up. This conversation should have had AI as one of the main points to focus on. Merely feeling like AI will make a lot of designers obsolete is a fear that must be pivoted into an opportunity. Mass optimization that is AI driven is already positively impacting the production of vehicles. It should also be positively incorporated in the design efforts. I could go on and on. I wish this talk had more depth.
