Can I connect a laptop to the roomkit pro codec so that my laptop's sound and video output is sent to the codec and therefore to the monitor, and the camera and the microphone that is connected to the codec is sent to the laptop as an input?? basically being able to horseshoe a call, so that you can make a call via laptop to a different software, while still using the roomkit pro's camera/microphone and still transmitting the audio/video the laptop's receiving to the monitor.

Apologies for the delayed reply... Yes, you can do this with a Room Kit Mini, out of the box, however you can do this with any Room Kit series system as well, it's a bit more complicated as you would need a USB capture device to accomplish.. The feature is called "USB Mode for Room Series", and enables "USB Passthrough" that allows the entire video conferencing system to be used with any PC application for Conferencing... The setup is a bit complex the first time, as it requires 2 cables (USB and HDMI) from a laptop and a custom Macro to be built for the Codec... Since this is a fairly new feature, we will be recording a video blog on this setup, please follow our channel as we hope to have this published before the end of May '21.

Nice presentation- but it points to the importance of lighting in a conference room with “presenting” capabilities. You were over in a dark corner. These automated solutions are great for end users who are not comfortable “driving” the AV for meetings & presentations, but more sophisticated integration may warranted in rooms that will be presenting often.

Is the speaker tracking / presenter tracking / split screen feature limited to Webex, or is it a feature of the codec? IE, if I run this to a Zoom meeting through their Conference Room Connector, what changes?

If your Zoom host account has purchased the Conference Room Connector license, then SIP devices like the Webex Room Kit (Kit Mini/Plus/Pro) can join the Zoom meeting. The Webex Room Kit will retain all of its SpeakerTrack functionality even when joining a Zoom meeting.
