Weber Q1200 Review and Accessories {Why I Got Rid of Mine!}
Here is my Weber Q1200 review after putting the grill through a lot of use.

The Q1200 is a great tabletop grill that is perfect for when you are grilling for 1-4 people.
The grill is made of aluminum and rigid plastic which means that the exterior will never rust. This is a great feature for use in coastal areas.
The heart of the grill is the heavy duty cast iron grate. The grate is engineered to drain grease away from the burner tube and will get incredibly hot for searing. The one downside of the grate design is that it is pretty hard to get completely clean.
Some of the Weber Q1200 accessories that I have for this include a six inch smoker tube, griddle plate, cart and propane tank adapter hose.
The propane adapter hose lets you run the grill from a standard 20 pound propane tank and I think it is an essential accessory. The griddle plate is cute but I hardly ever use it.
While I really love cooking on this grill the reality is that it is just a little too small for my needs. When I am grilling for more than four people I have to cook in batches and I get stressed about planning my menu.
If you are only cooking for a few people or just need a small grill for your RV then the Q1200 is a great choice. If you want to grill for more than four people then you might want to look at the Weber Q2200 or Weber Traveler instead.

I will probably get one of these to replace my little Char Broil X200 Grill To Go for RV camping, I like the way they can be converted easily to use on low pressure regulated propane systems easily. I also found a beautiful Weber Genesis one of our neighbors placed at the street, the propane cylinder inside the cabinet apparently caught on fire and they thought the grill was ruined. I remounted the cylinder bracket to the outside of the storage compartment similar to the new models, bought new grates, hose, regulator, etc. and now have a better than new Genesis!

I have the Q1200 and agree that it's too small for more than 4 people. I remedied that by buying the Q2200, too. Having both is great! I can be grilling steaks, chops or chicken on the Q2200 while grilling potato slices, hot dogs or burgers on the Q1200. If I'm grilling for just my wife and I, I use just the Q1200. If we're having guests, I use both grills. I even picked up a second Q1200 on CList that was like new for $50 along with a one piece, full sized griddle for it. It's great for cooking breakfast on when we go camping. Both of my Q1200s have the old style one piece grills. They're a lot easier to use than the 2 piece ones that are on the newer units.
Where did you get the stand for your q1200 as it looks better than the one I see now that they have?

Tough to clean? Maybe if you let it get encrusted like that. I clean mine after every use, takes 5 minutes max. How's the griddle that dirty if you used it once? Probably had something to do with using to high a temperature. If you're only getting 1 1/2 hours you've got it up to high. On lower settings it lasts 4-6 hours

I found a Weber Genesis on the side of the road and it’s awesome. ThAt is a great gift to give to your friend, but I agree, it is pretty small for big cooks.

Home Depot sells the valve and gas line.
I have the 2200 and yeah it's just the right size for 6 to 8 people

How many years did you have the grill?
Mine sucks, it gets way too hot way too fast, even adjusting gas, also, if the wind is blowing, forget it, mine is going in the dumpster, and the igniter is shit

@Alfie Blake baby q is awesome, Genesis was a pain then i found a simple easy way to clean so use my Genesis a lot more now but not as much as baby q 👌👌

Try cleaning it once in a while, it's obvious you don't like cleaning such a nice BBQ....l wouldn't take that even if it's free, no thanks...nasty !.

I have a 1200 that is on its 3rd regulator. First 2 were weber the 3rd one i got off of amazon. It seems to be working good. Do not buy weber one they are no good. I will never buy another Weber 1200.

I was having trouble with mine not getting hot and thought it was the regulator. I discovered I was just opening the valve on the tank too fast. If you open the tank valve too fast it triggers a safety feature that reduces the gas flow to only about 15-20%. It would light but not get hot. Now I open the tank valve first, very slowly. Then I open the grill's valve. I haven't had any regulator issues since I learned this.

@duanes3354 I had that problem also. I would also wait a few minutes before lighting after opening valve slowly.
