I think it’s good to do this when you’re married/in a relationship and you’re popular on social media. I know there are men that I’ve found attractive on social media and as soon as I see in his bio that he’s married to someone or in a relationship, I’m like ok...fantasy over 😂 I personally think it’s just another nice form of PDA and expressing your love for someone publicly. Nothing more, nothing less IMO 🤷🏾‍♀️

NorCal girl here. Yep, "going around" is (was? I don't know, I'm old! LOL) a real phrase here. And also just "go" or "going" - like, "Did you hear Jen is going with Mike?" or, "Do you think he's gonna ask you to go with him?" :D

By going around I think she meant when people ask “Are y’all talking” 🤔🤔🤔🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️

I don’t need everybody to know about my personal life I don’t need to over post and parade it around. If you feel the need to be seen all the time on social media you’re probably insecure. The bio thing to me is corny. Why do I need to show everybody who I’m with in my bio?

Yep I'm from Southern California and when i was in elementary school we said "go around" too

In my day, the 70's, in San Francisco, at Aptos Jr. High, the boy would ask you, "Will you go with me?" And the girl would respond with, a "Yes" or a "No". Usually the answer was "Yes!" Then that meant, that you were girlfriend and boyfriend! Ooooooo! 💕

I used to do that in high school. That was the thing to lol But when I met my now- husband, i didn't have an Instagram until much later and i honestly never even thought about him tagging me on his bio once we became official. Even now, after we got married and have 2 kids, I never thought of that. I don't have him tagged either lol I guess I like to feel like an individual and that I don't have to be telling ppl my business. I don't add people that I don't know so whoever is my "friend" on Instagram, they know I'm married.

Oh I’m like Tam I can’t wait to change my status on Facebook but I’m proud of who my new guy is! I’d do a bf and my husband when I get married one day! My guy said he wants to ask me in person to make it official and I think that’s so romantic 🥰💕

Go around, brought me back to school times and thats what we would say in south Texas, the valley.

The Instagram bio thing nahhhh, BUT I would do it on Facebook because it has the actual option where it asks you are you in a relationship or gives you the option to put it.

That's so interesting. In Jamaica it's the equivalent to like "Did you hear James and Annette going around together? His wife doesn't know. A shame. Never ever heard of “going around”. It’s going out or going steady. My fiancé insinuated he wanted to be with me after our first date and I said well you haven’t asked me anything yet. Then he asked if I would be his girlfriend.

It depends on the person, because in general it doesn’t matter but if you want it then do it and if you don’t it’s fine , because it wouldn’t and it shouldn’t affect the relationship.

Oh yeah millennials & generation Z babies actually do it all the time... trust me I know I have friends that do this with hearts and a lock while tagging their partner !
