Weaving a Baby Boy's Blanket: PART 2

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This video is all about the weaving of a baby boy's blanket. This blanket was made on my Ashford rigid heddle loom. I explain different techniques that I used in order to change colors in the most invisible way possible. I also share the stunning pattern and the final blanket. I used Lion Brand's yarn and it wove beautifully. #rigidheddle #weaving #babyblanket

THE PATTERN
I have created a blog post about the weaving of this project where I provide all the details about the pattern for free. Here's the link: curly-n-yarny.com/weaving-the...
THE YARN
For this project, I'm using Lion Brand's yarn from their "Feel like Butta" collection. The yarn is actually made of 100% Polyester and it's super easy to wash! I used 4 different colors:
-2 balls of Ice 106AE (Light Green)
-1 ball of Dusty Blue 108A (Blue)
-1 ball of Lemon 158A (Yellow)
-1 ball of Pale Grey 149 (Light grey)
Note that each ball contains 218 yards (199m) of yarn.
If you wish to get the same yarn, you could do so directly on the Lion Brand’s website. Here’s the link: shrsl.com/43dqh
MY LOOM
In the video, you can see my Ashford rigid heddle loom. Its width is 32" (80cm) and I love it! If you are in the US and looking for the same loom, The Woolery has it! Here's their website: woolery.com/ashford-rigid-hed...

You give such good explanations like how to transition yarns. I’m new to weaving so I find your videos helpful and not so boring. Your positive attitude really shines through.

Oh, the pattern turned out great. It still looks organised but has an organic feel to it. Congrats on finishing it, I hope the nice blanket will be appreciated and enjoyed for a long time!

I'm happy your new co-stars didn't steal the show. 🙂 They must have been too busy napping.

Mylena! I have a co-worker who's wife is currently expecting and this project of your could not have come at a better time! Thank you for always putting up lovely content. :) I've never thought about transitioning my threads in that second way before either. I have another towel to finish off weaving currently, so I'm going to try that one!

what a lovely baby blanket. Watching you always gets me motivated to do some weaving. I think its time I got my loom warped up for some more tea towels. I have new more summery colours of cotton. I do tend to procrastinate on the warping part as it can take me several hours to do. T x

I understand how daunting warping can be! But it leads to so much afterwards hahah And if you warp for many tea towels at the same time, it will last longer 😂
