Its a bit late for this children in need but here's something for Christmas, a children in need Christmas drumming special, Owain and all you other drummers try to re create the greatest drum solo ever. The late legendary NEIL PEART'S solo live in Frankfurt. Neil peart was known as the professor, he studied drumming from all around the world ,in his solo you had everything from afro Caribbean to old school jazz and swing. 8 minute's of drumming masterclass, ask the other drummers about Neil peart, ask Dave Grohl he's a big fan of Neil, Neil wasn't just the greatest drummer, Neil was one of the greatest lyricists, Neil passed away from brain cancer January 2020 aged67, all the Rush fans and drummers around the world miss Neil peart loads. Try to get everyone together to do this for a children in need Christmas special.

You looked like you had the most amazing time,it was a joy to watch,not a single face without a huge smile on it. I had the iPlayer in the whole run and donated right at the start as I knew it was going to be awesome and it’s now over 3mill. Everyone involved should be soooo proud….good job😃

This was over 10 hours in to his drumathon, the energy he gives this piece is amazing and his smile at the end said it all. Well done Owain.

Yep 100% - right at that moment you feel it. Goosebumps every time! And to think there are some people out there who don't "get it", that passion for rhythm, that don't hear *and* feel it music, sound, etc. Genuinely couldn't imagine life without it.

It was a real honour and pleasure to play live with so many incredible drummers and meet so many incredible people. I'm never going to forget it! Still bouncing about it now!

Genuine question; was this done as appears or are there a number of muted drum kits there? That number of standard kits being played would surely be absolutely deafening?

@@Daveinnorfolk A fair question. All of those kits are live kits. We were required beforehand to confirm we were either bringing ear protection, or were happy to be supplied with them. You'll see everyone's wearing some form of headphones and I was wearing in-ear protection underneath them too. I did take my headphones off, once, and you're right. It was crazy loud!

I’ve watched this multiple times and I still get goosebumps and tears in my eyes. It’s just the loveliest display of all sorts of people, of all ages and species (Pudsey), all having the time of their lives. Wonderful and WELL DONE!

I cast this through our tv and soundbar for hubby to hear. He, like me, was blown away by the co-ordination, the energy, and the sheer joy on the faces of all involved. The little one at the front with the dreads has me in happy years every time I replay this! Owain, as a Yorkshire dweller I miss you on our screen, but my family in Liverpool now you well now. Well done, lovely, and keep on smiling that lovely smile!

it's such a beautiful happy moment.. i am totally and utterly cold and dead inside, lol but this did bring a tear to me eye, not going to lie ... so much hapiness and joy..

Honestly one of the best 3 minutes of television I’ve seen for years

The BBC news theme just has something about that makes it astounding in its own way, For Owain and all who took part in this drumathon you made it a remarkable and emotional moment to watch...... Well done, I think we all salute you for raising so much money!

I saw a programme that explained why it works so well. The composer used a heartbeat and the notion of the ' pips' as the starting point!

I cannot stop watching this!!! 🤯 👏 👏 👏. Will be showing my music students at school tomorrow!!! WOW!!!!!

The woman with the multi hair having a great time is Dame Evelynn Glennie, and she is totally deaf and feels the rhythm in her feet... great drummer

Honestly this whole drumathon was just so wholesome, had it on in the background while I was working. The news intro is absolutely iconic, huge applause for everyone involved!

Owain my man you rock and well done in the studio for keeping time and the others dotted around various regions playing drums or bass guitar even our own Abbie from the Yorkshire region using her initiative, it seems we have some rock star musicians in weatherland all hail the rock gods and goddesses

From Keith Jones drummer Bude Cornwall. Well done Owain with your drumming skills and drum team and all that money you raised. God Bless you. At 70 and a retired drummer from the music business, went on my kit for 6 minutes, afterwards needed 2 doctors, a sponge wash a stretcher had to be lifted off my drum stool, my false teeth fell out, the doctors said my eye twitching should stop by the end of the year!!!!!!!! So all I can say is Well Done you are a good lad (K.J.)

WOW WOW WOW This is one of the most incredibly emotive pieces of music I have ever heard. It vibrated through my body and soul. To have been in the room must have been out ot this world. The energy from such a tribal instrument coupled with each and ever drummers remarkable ability to play with such joy sends shivers and goosebumps everytime I rewatch it. Whenever I hear the BBC news theme it gets me tuned in, it’s so exhilarating, and what stands out the most is the countdown beep sound at the end.

I dream that they start using this as intro cause i love it so much
