Hey Scott! Your videos get even more awesome with each new release! I think this and the last T-34 video were your most "professional"/"DVD quality" ones to date. Your layering of pigment and oils and enamels and everything looks incredible in the end. I liked the way you built up the grease with dust over the hull sides most. Superb result :)

After step one I thought your tracks were great. Then step two I thought they were finished. After steps 3, 4 and 5, they became works of art. I will use this method as a template for mine - thanks again for the instruction.

Great weathering video, Scott! I would have to say my favourite WWII campaign would be North Africa and Italy. Lots of camouflage colour variety for all the belligerents, as well as the full weathering range: dusty, muddy, wet, dry, all seasons (it was a long campaign in the Mediterranean), but all theatres are interesting.

Cavalry Sabre as they were professional soldiers pre war, old Mauser, practice grenade- which I actually took to school as show and tell back in 50s....lots of stuff..

This is outstanding! Such great results! I'm not brave enough to try them out though.

Very interesting to see how you approach this! The metal pigment section was of particular interest, since i have never attempted that myself. I think you could have achieved the same result on the tracks with a third of the steps and materials, but i am sure when seen in person the layering is actually visible and make a difference in a competition.

Possibly. But I'm a sucker for over the top type finishes and I find the more I do the better I get and am able to experiment more confidently with each model. I'm all about trying new things and don't like to do things the same on every model. Cheers.

Fantastic results Scott, very realistic! There are lots of ways to achieve these effects, some simple, some not so simple - this one is very time consuming but hard to argue with results! P.S. Keep the heat low on that hair dryer 😉

Hi Scott mate, I've really enjoyed this video. What a brill job you and Ev have been doing on this beast. You know I saw this being advertised, you know pictures etc from Rye field saying its coming out and at first I said I'm not a huge fan of the T-34 so I thought I probably won't get this kit but after watching your project coming together the more I've got into it, this version. Honestly though mate, you've done a brill job on this, I know Evan didn't do the Rye field kit but both have done great. I hope you and your family are all well and staying safe with all this daft, pathetic and attention seeking Riots, protests etc? Hope you and your family have stayed fit and healthy through the Virus epidemic? Tell you it's unbelievable at the minute. If an alien was coming down to earth they certainly bugger off back home. Ha ha ha, brilliant. 2nd, its free speech, 3rd, I've worked for our government for a very long time,, most of my working life, the things we have had to put up with and gone through, including being shot, in my 2nd tour, Im no better than the next person and never claimed to be. 4th, I'm open and honest, so I will not refrain from saying anything or voicing my opinions. 5th, when you have got colleagues fighting for their lives, being beaten up from simply trying to protect their business, familys, etc setting fire to Police Officers, one of which had two weeks ago carried out emergency C.P.R on a 8month old and got her breathing again. The little one was a black girl, just saying as all Police Officers and staff are Racist!!!!!! That officer is still in Hospital and will be for sometime. I was completely behind the Protests at first when George Floyd died. There is no room for what those Officers did. There is no room in any Police Force and many other service's in any country around the world. These People ruin lives and every time they leave their Station, doing this type of offence and others, they are putting their colleagues and civis etc etc in Danger and are clouding more darkness on the Police and have a total disregard of the Oath they have taken to be a Police Officer. Then sadly, alot of these protesters, then turned to early mentioned crime, looting, assault, attempted murder, cruelty to animals, racist attacks, arson etc etc etc, my sympathy and respect for them I had for them making a stand completely disappeared. I gave my opinion as I was sick and tired of hearing about the Police are bad, murderers and the hate for them just unreal and pathetic. THEY ONLY HATE THE POLICE, UNTIL THEY NEED THEM. I was speaking my opinion, from experience and what was being said every day since. I was asked how I was by Scott. As I mentioned earlier, Im open and honest. People may see reality a lot clearer..... Pot, kettle, black.... I've seen reality, ive the scars to prove it, you sitting behind your little computer, tappy, tap, tapping about what clearly are Your opinions. I haven't noticed anyone complain or having ago at you... You know why..... It is YOUR opinion! And your entitled to it. What's a "Plandemic" by the way???? If you mean PANDEMIC then yeh, and I'll stand by opinion. All these idiots having party's, organising illegal raves, not distancing, Protesting.... I love all the Night Shift and Michael Rinaldi vibes in this video 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 amazing finish! I bet it looks even better in person.. depth and layers are where it's at! As an actual student of the arts are you familiar I'm assuming with the Rembrandt windmill example of light and contrast? That's what I love about the lower hull. I've made the mistake in the past many times of adding way too many dark wet muds and dark oil spils and dark shadows- but no contrasting light tones! Your example of darks and lights throughout is awesome 😁😁👏🏻

We will have to live with the video the way it is. If I delete it and upload it again it gets a new URL then I lose all the watch time and views that it has so far. I won't make this mistake again... 😉

This is a great vid. Not so sure about that amount of rust on a vehicle that's still in service's tracks though - wouldn't most of it get knocked off? Anyway, fantastic vid - well worth another viewing I think as there's a lot here. Top stuff, thanks for sharing.

Great point! Although looking through my reference of modern desert armour there was a noticeable amount of rust present mixed in with other effects. Once I add more dust to the tracks once on it's base it will blend it more into the surroundings. It's better to add as much texture and effects before dusting or the whole thing ends up looking monotone and boring. IMO. Cheers!

Certainly, Abteilung is a great product. Winsor Newton artist oils are my go-to for figure painting but the Abteilung is convenient as its a ready-made set. Yes, go for it you won't regret the purchase. Cheers!

Dumb question (prob'bly): how much dishsoap do you add to the water?

No dumb questions here M8! For a Tamiya sized bottle (like in the video) 4-6 drops. if your adding it to a bottle "let's say" Tamiya lacquer sized bottle 6-8 drops. I hope that helps. Cheers!

It always varies depending on the environment the models in. I do however always mix a vary dark, mid-and very light pigment together so I get the most variation possible. Does that make sense?
