Фильм және анимация
In this video, I will show you how I weather a modern Athearn Genesis UTLX LPG tank car, using a combination of techniques and materials. I also talk about adding safety stripes and using prototype photos to achieve the look of a realistic model.

I know this is four years after the video, but I tried Anita's Acrylics for the trucks and the product was fantastic. I was using Poly-S paints but since they were aguired by Testors they seem not to dry as flat as the Floquil version. They go on flat but dry glossy. Anita's goes on thick, covers well then settles and dries flat with an even finish. Of note though; just use a drop of black in the Earth Brown.I will be buying larger bottles in the future!
Great techniques. I had forgotten about using hot water to increase the can pressure for a finer spray. Great ideas.
First class, clear narration. Professionals take note. Well done young man. Excellent work on the models too. *****
Good tutorial, thanks. Noticed you were struggling with the auto-focus: a good trick is to point the camera at the object you want in focus, let the camera adjust the focus and then switch to 'manual focus'. That will lock the focus. You just have to remember to keep your hands/freight car in the same zone to ensure you stay in focus.
Hi Dan I love your projects. As I was taking a very close look at the details on this tank car, I noticed that Athern Put the wrong end caps on the car. The side and top has 951095 wile the end caps have 951090. Did you or any one else notice this? I know, get a life. I still love your work and I always look forward to the next video. Thanks much, Paul
Dude you should really make a website ur work is just perfect
Dan, great video. I look forward to going back and watching your past videos. I like your wearing style and the lessons you share.

At the beginning of the video, that tank car looked very blue, but at the end of the video, it looked pretty faded.

Really good work! :)
great job!
Terrific work. Add some "grime" too to the steps of the ladder rungs, hand grip sides of the ladder and the stirrup steps. IMHO but, it's your techniques. Little late to the party, just saw it. Again terrific work though. :)
Dan, can you clear up something for me: 1.) Is "clear coating" the same as "dull coating"? 2.) I'm considering buying a bottle/can of Gloss Clear Coat - Hobby and Model Lacquer Paint so, is this what I should use to clear coat my new models right out of the box before I start weathering? 3.) When should I apply dull coat? 4.) I've heard it said to wash a new car in warm soapy water to get any injection molding flash remaining on the model? Is that necessary?
Exultant job son
I LOVE YOUR WAY THANKS FOR THE TIP..
Great weathering, thanks for the tips. I will be trying some of these out. Can you do some heavy weathering tips in your up coming weathering vids. Much appreciated.

+Robert Miller You can use several sights for photos but one of the best to use is Railroadpicturearchives.net. You can track just about any loco or railcar from any model and any road. ~Daniel
