Just found your channel. Really like it. Used to farrow sows a long, long, long time ago. Loved it, but it didn't work out. Late 70's early 80s. Bad timing. Just had started out and then things went to hell!

Thanks Morrie. Sorry to hear that. My parents went through those times. I just got lucky I was born at a good time!

@@farmerdan87 Wrong place, wrong time. Took a while of getting over the reality of what happened, but I glad people like your parents and now you and your wonderful family show that it can be done. I was small to start with, farrowing 36 sows a month and selling piglets as feeders.

What is the feed management of urs fatning pigs.

Yes finishers have the easy work. They can skip a round if they wish, what a luxury. That 12 ish weaned sounds low to me. Is it good for your area? Now we're about 15,5 ish which is really good for us but we used to run around 13-14 when we came from a bad sow line. Now we run danish again which bring us many piglets :)

I'm just giving the finishing guys a hard time, they're busy during shipping and washing times. 12 pigs weaned would be average around here for sure. I'm not sure I know anyone who can wean over 13 consistently.15.5 is unbelievable nice work!
