I agree. The question is, what are the Baton Rouge blacks going to do? How can they consolidate full power and improvement in that city.? In my mind this presents a golden opportunity for them. I agree that the departing whites should go, even at this point whatever level of racism that has departed with them is a good thing for blacks.

Honestly I think it's the glamorization of Black Ghetto (or Poverty) Culture and the shouting down of Black Church Culture. Now that poverty culture is glamorized. It's praised in mainstream media. When people say Black Culture they don't even think of church culture anymore. The civil rights movements in the 60s were led by Reverend King, Reverend Jackson, etc, etc. The Church was the cultural, family, and moral center. In The summer of love? The new Black Church leaders were told to shut the F up and get to the back. So sad. Unfortunately I think the same thing is going to happen to White Families since they've dislodged the community from the Church (which was their cultural center also). Just may take a little longer since our version of Poverty Culture (Rednecks) is not glamorized at all. Nobody wants to be a redneck. lol. There's not really a risk of that taking over so it will be something else that has to grow into what used to be a church culture.

Oh please, who actually said or implied anything about race in this case? Black people who do well for ourselves move out of cities like Baton Rouge as soon as we can. I know this bc I’m from right next door in Jackson, Ms and would never go back there either. It’s not other people’s responsibility to send their kids to garbage schools and/or reside in neighborhoods they don’t want to live in just bc it’s beneficial for someone else. And even if it does reduce the tax base, people with higher incomes/ wealth pay more in taxes so it’s not like they stole poor people’s money to build a new city. If those (lower income) folks left behind in Baton Rouge had done what was necessary to establish and maintain a good life before laying up and having kids they can’t afford, they’d be able to do better for their offspring so don’t blame wealthy white people for the condition of those kids. Besides, what’s the alternative?- to force people to raise their kids in unfavorable conditions even though they can do better? Good grief. The entitlement in this country is so ridiculous.

Hey Fox 26 here’s a novel idea. How about interviewing someone from the other side and just to keep it racial as you and others are doing , interview a black man and ask him why it was important for him and his family to vacate Baton Rouge. I guess maybe that would be actual journalism and too much to ask. Keep your card held high. Lets not worry about the kids.

According to the statement at the end of the video, the area was not legally part of Baton Rouge, but unincorporated; Baton Rouge had not sought to annex them. So now the residents decide to incorporate, organize and govern themselves. I don't see what the issue is. I say good for them regardless of their ethnicity or lack thereof.
