Living in the west I'm learning that real wealth is in the areas who's trees haven't been cut down, where food grows in abundance, and there is clean natural water nearby. I'm conflicted in being happy for the progress but also understand what this leads to, over development and destruction of natural resources. Africans have to learn to strike the balance that China, Japan, India, and all other developed/developing countries could not - To prioritize maintaining the wealth of nature over European influenced development.

@@rodneyagesa1851 We do that in a lot of places in the states, as well now. It still isn't enough to replenish what was taken. It's like borrowing $1 and the repayment is $.25. Like I said on one hand is exciting to see this type of development on the other hand... Once your economy is dependent on development, a country will continue to build whether they need/want to or not. The villages are true 1st world countries.

Best comment! In Nairobi/Kiambu there's an upcoming mega project (for the wealthy, of course) known as Tatu City that shall basically decimate the forestry of the area, and Nairobi's temperature regulation. There's lots of un-forested areas around Nairobi that would have served the same housing purpose, without interfering with the ecosystem.

Wow! I’m Kenyan and I’ve been saying that to my people. It hurts and annoys me when I see people cutting down old trees that are hundreds and some thousands of years old, to build their modern houses. We need a law that protects the trees’ ownership of the land they already stand on!!!

Half an acre for $100K US or Ksh 10M is a fair price for any long term investor. That's the price of 1/8 in an area like *kinoo* with no infrastructure like sewer and paved roads in place. Budaboss, I hear there are a lot of projects going on in Mombasa... Dongo Kundu bypass, Likoni Floating Bridge, Dongo Kundu SEZ... A lot of work going into Mombasa Port (the second busiest port in Sub Saharan Africa after Durban) too. Berth upgrades, phase II of the 2nd container terminal, New Kipevu Oil Terminal near Dongo Kundu... I suppose Mombasa Gate Bridge is yet to start, though funding has already been secured from Japan

Great development for Africa continent. I wish to know if the blocks used for building are Earth mud blocks or Cement Blocks. What is the cost of the smallest property or a web site to check the properties prices.
