@Educational Resources how ever many years it takes to create a problem, at least the same amount of time is should expected to correct it, granted there is no outside interference. Unfortunately, I believe that most former slave colonies will remain poor for irreparable reasons. Btw I just found out the French and Americans embargoed Haiti till 1863 (FOR THE SLAVES THE FRENCH LOST) and also supported dictators who were anti-communist throughout the cold war.

@Peter Connell Don't make excuses for this & blame others for their own mess. why don't they "recycle" it themselves. why do they need a governmental body to tell them how? A lot of that trash can be sorted, dried and compressed into fuel bricks saving what little trees they have left, another portion of it can be made into building materials, there is no excuse for piles of rotting vegetables & fruits that is all compo-stable. they could also, i dunno replant the fucking trees as well & grow their own food & then small groups of them who aren't farming can set up mini schools in their homes and teach the next generation not to be lazy cunts like their grandfathers. None of that requires money just the will to make their lives better rather than expecting another rich country to bail them out. But if they're lucky enough filth & disease will spark a plague & wipe most of them out... fingers crossed those who aren't living in shit, who made an effort will survive warn the coming generations of what not to do. J Dineen - Lack of responsibility is foremost. That is a running theme among seemingly all black societies/communities. Haitians won’t address their own problems because they all think it has nothing to do with them, and blacks in America “ain’t do nuffin” at all. @@Aryaman_mishra775 I understand, here's a little change in perspective the caste system we have adopted today is the one interpreted by Europeans (ironic) "caste" itself is a Portuguese word, Valmiki (ramayan) himself was born in a lower caste and ended up being a Brahmin AFTER he wrote ramayan, and yes Wikipedia says otherwise heavily biased.

Trees are one of the most easily renewed resources there is. Cut one, plant two. Biodiversity is another matter, but the fact that these people can't even be bothered to put back seedlings when they clear an area for wood is just mind boggling. There is absolutely no foresight even on the most basic level, and even when they are told! It reminds me of all these Christian missionaries who have to travel to African villages to show them how to dig a well for water.
