    Of course, we post this video and a few days later we have a Floureon battery that doesn't work anymore. The cells themselves are still good but we think the wiring is messed up in the battery. Hopefully Floureon accepts our warranty claim🤞 EDIT: We never got a response from Floureon but we contacted the seller on Amazon where we got the battery and got our money back! We picked up a Povway Power 3S LiPo. EDIT 2: Ever since Covid, it's almost impossible to buy Floureon batteries. I don't know why... but, if you are looking for an alternative cheap battery. Check out the Povway Power brand! We love them! (We've had better luck with them than Floureon too!)

    Are you aware of Traxxas’ battery warranty? Traxxas will exchange their batteries within the first year. After that year they will exchange their batteries (any condition) for 50% off a new one. What’s the warranty on the other batteries?

    Why the Cs matter? There is no industry standard for C rating measurements… I literally tested a fancy graphene 80C/160C batt against the traxxas 25C/50C and there was absolutely 0 difference in performance… This thing about Cs reminds me to pixels on phone cameras, yet there it is, Apple with their 12mpx iphone cameras pulling the best photos and videos in the market…

    Kind of... after a few months we realized that Floureon batteries aren't good. We've never had any issues with the Floureon 2S batteries, but the 3S ones aren't good. We've had 1 3S die, and another 3S puff up numerous times because the cells don't stay balanced in the 3S Floureons as well as they should. Also, you can't find Floureons anywhere online and idk why. But, Povway Power is a much better battery imo. We've had their 2S and 3S batteries and have been very impressed, They are very affordable too!! Traxxas batteries are good, but they lack power because of the low C-rating, but they have good technology. It really depends on if you want to spend more for the extra technology or not. If you a beginner, than I would say that would be the smarter thing to do.

    I have had traxxas batteries for years and years. All lipos are made in the same couple factories in china. They are all pretty much the same. If you take care of them they last, a long time. I mean my friend ejected a traxxas battery, it was literally bent, he bent it back out and still works fine. Floureon and others will be the end of local hobby shops. Support your local hobby shop - i worked at one and we went out of buisness. It would make me angry when someone would come in with all this china crap, floureon batteries, and expect us to do work on their car for free because we were a hobby shop. It's inevitable all this online stuff will be the end of the hobby shops. However, I do agree, traxxas batteries are way overpriced and have low C ratings. The ID system is also stupid. However, traxxas batteries always break because well, the owners have traxxas cars lol. Just my 2 cents from selling and using many traxxas batteries.

    Yeah we totally agree that people need to support their LHS. We dont have one that is close to us so we don't get to purchase from them, otherwise we would. We try to go to Hobby Shops as much as possible if we are out of town and there is one in the area or something. As for Traxxas batteries, like we said in the video we've had good luck and like them, but their too expensive for what they are. The low C-Rating thing also bugs us. We feel like the ID system is good for beginners or kids because it's fool proof, but it isn't for us anymore because we grew out of that and expanded our knowledge.

    Hey, I have a Traxxas 3S 5000mah 25c battery, been less than a month with it, already broke the plastic cover over the protective metal shell. I have an ID charger, but until now, all i had was a Turnigy Hard-case 5200mah 2S LiPo, and decided to get something better, like the one that i currently am. I'm in this hobby for a little over a year and a half, and the only car i had and still have is a rustler 4x4vxl, with alluminium upgrades, 17t pinion and the velileon fan. So far, my only problems were the shock caps that kept on breaking, until i got the aluminium ones. I had a problem with the pinion when it kept getting off the mesh with the spur gear. Yes, i know, im kind of a rookie, i bought the big format battery, but i have a small format socket, so i had to make a straight arm out of polycarbonate that fits, and zip tie the new 3s battery on it. And yes, it came out of the plastic cover, went straight ahead when i hit a border at 10mph. I dont know what is going to happen in the future, i hope nothing goes bad, today i was charging it and it just woudnt charge in fast charging mode, so i just switched to balance mode. And actually, I found out that Traxxas batteries actually have balance cables, the little ones right in the middle, stuck on the actual wires. I do agree, they have quite low C ratings, but so far for me its good. My other battery never gave up on me. Well, first of all its a hard case made out of thick plastic, the other one is literally like a bag and can always puff. Im worried if it would give up on me, since i have a tight budget. But yeah, we will see. EDIT: literally 1 hour later and i have a new problem. My id charger keeps making a noise.

    @@traxrc agree 100% my bitch with traxxas is the shitty soft tire compound they use. $25-$30 a pair & 2 runs the treads/ knobbys are tearing off. I have a midnight pumpkin from 1990 that still has 3/4 the tread on its second set or tires. Any suggestions on a good set of tires that holds up. I just got back into this. Had to quit skiing motorcycles & dirtbikes because of degenerative disk disease. Not sure of what to buy now. The brushless motor destroys the stock tires. I dont race there isnt any close tracks here anymore. Closest is hour&half away. Thats why i bought the rustler basher. Dirt parking lots & covid closed softball fields with that orange gravel,crushed sandstone shit. Ive spent $60 on tires in 4 weeks. Not happy about that at all.

    For the Rustler we would recommend the Proline Trencher T 2.2 Tires. Here's a link too www.prolineracing.com/tires/trencher-t-2-2-all-terrain-truck-tires.asp They don't come with rims do that gives you the option to pick the ones that you like. If you need help finding rims for then we are glad to help with that too.

    Probably a "noob" question....but aren't we all, at some point? My traxxas rustler motor, has the ID connector and so if I get some of the lower cost lipo batteries, the connector is different. How do I make it work? I hope that makes sense. Thank you.

  • @traxrc

    @traxrc

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yes that makes sense! But the it is actually the ESC that the battery plugs into. To answer your question, you could either get an adapter to go from the connector on the cheaper battery to the Traxxas plug on the ESC, or you can solder a new connector on the ESC, but this would void your warranty, and if you don't know how to solder or don't have the proper equipment this can be very difficult. We suggest that you get an adapter to go from plug to plug. We hope that we helped you :)

    It’s simple, do you want to buy a battery that you can plug and play and get the most of for a long time… get Traxxas. If you want to struggle with dead cells or battery issues because you wanted to save money. . Then buy non Traxxas batteries. You can always find cheap Traxxas chargers on face book marketplace. The way I see it, time is too valuable to struggle with inferior products that makes you think you’re saving money. You end up spending more time dealing with issues than having fun. Traxxas simplified RCing for people like me who just want to charge a pack, go to the park and have fun. I don’t get technical with C ratings or worry about whats the right charging AMPS for my battery or anything else. Traxxas is awesome in my book.

    i did not see a balance lead on the traxxas battery i am willing to bet that traxxas probably put the bms inside the battery witch communicates to the charger. you may want to rebuild the battery by removing the internal bms and wire up balance leads and let the charger do the balancing and monitoring.

  • @traxrc

    @traxrc

    3 жыл бұрын

    That's exactly what they did with the balance leads it think. What's BMS? Never heard of it before. Is it battery moderating system? Imo there is no need to rebuild a dead Traxxas battery. That's just dangerous with all types of brands in general. I'd rather toss it and pay for a new one then try to fix it myself. I dont have the skill, tools, or knowledge about batteries to be able to perform that.
