We Went To Saudi Arabia.

In today's episode, we take you along on one of our craziest trips so far. Never in a million years did we think we'd go to Saudi Arabia this soon. Then, all of a sudden, we decided to just do it.
We were hesitant to go given all we’ve read about the country.
During our journey to 100 countries and beyond, we will undoubtedly visit countries where we don’t agree with certain laws or practices, and personally, we don’t want this to stop us from going.
After all, how can we build understanding if we refuse to meet people, or are not open-minded enough to talk to someone who might disagree with us? We need more understanding, respect, and international cooperation, not greater divides.
Our intention has always been to use our platform as a personal diary to look back on, and we want to take every opportunity we can to grow and learn more about the world.
More videos from Saudi Arabia coming soon!🇸🇦
Thank you for always supporting us and being the best people on the planet🌍❤️

Saudi Arabia was country #83/197🌍

As a Saudi who travels a lot, I noticed that safety point as well. All the places I’ve traveled to I have witness crime on the street. Not done to me, but I was a direct eye witness to countless crimes on the street and that never happened once in all my life living in Saudi Arabia

As a Saudi, I resist watching these videos, I thought it would be another misrepresentation video, but I really enjoyed this! You know how to spend your time. P.s: regarding the visa and what you had to sign, I wish you could see what we go through as Saudis to apply for American visas, we are treated like guilty until proven otherwise, and when we’ve arrived to NYC, people rudely took pictures of us because we were wearing abayas. In short, misrepresentation from both sides.

People usually goes out at round 7pm-8pm especially after Isha prayer. Stores closes at around 12AM. During Ramadan, stores closes at around 5AM.

I moved to KSA two years ago with my Saudi husband. All in all, it is a very safe country and the people are very welcoming. I was pretty confused too when I first moved here about why the people are not as active during the day, but I believe it is because 1. the weather, 2. prayer times, and 3. they are just night owls. And just like in the U.S. there are nice parts and not so nice parts. As well as some areas being more conservative than others. But the nightlife is great! And they are big on mocktails, you'll find them everywhere. I love changing peoples perceptions about Saudi, considering most people in the U.S. only know things from the news or film portrayal's. You guys are changing a lot of peoples perceptions!

As someone who does not like to interfere in politics, but who encourages social openness, what Mohammed bin Salman has done during these short years deserves to be applauded. I will not listen to the Western media because it operates according to agendas and political parties. What I see is that the Saudis are happy and proud, they breathe freedom, entertainment and fun and love the Crown Prince, so why do Western newspapers attack them? Saudi Arabia has become a promising tourist destination, and with the end of the mega projects, it will have a global stature. I have already visited AlUla and have never found such a magical place in my life besides the generosity and love that the Saudis offer me.

Regarding your question about the Mall, so this is one of the oldest malls in Saudi Arabia and especially in Riyadh ( Mool AlMamlakah or Mall of Kingdom ) and the reason why no one or only few people go there is that there are newer and more modern styled malls such as AlNakheel Mall and Riyadh Park and soon enough there will be one the largest malls in the world which is Saudia Mall. I'm pretty sure Faisal did his best showing you around, I wish he could have showed you Hanifa Valley one of the most beautiful areas we go to in the winter where we camp there, also Riyadh Front which is like a long path with restaurants, cafes, and stores. As a Saudi, I can proudly say that we have come a long way and I hope to see my country the number 1 destination for tourists !

For some reason I thought you have already been to Saudi Arabia. I must have combined all your other Middle East country adventures and assumed that you've been to all the places. And I think I always assumed that all the Middle East countries had this level of restrictions and always found it interesting how freely you have traveled to Qatar, UAE, etc. As a woman I have been interested in how it would be to travel to Middle East countries. Your nervousness around Saudi Arabia travel are what I assumed my experience for all travel to the Middle East would be. This was really so informative.

Saudi is very welcoming to tourists since 2019 when tourism visas were first issued, and I met people from all around the world in the capital, Riyadh. Most of them speak highly of how hospitable and helpful the people are, and how it's really safe in KSA. That's very reassuring as not too long ago we didn't have a tourism business, except religious tourism if you wanna call it that, and many people abroad are lead to believe that Saudi is almost another planet, while we're all humans at the end of the day. The only reason you got that disclaimer at 2:25 is just so a visitor is aware of the different laws which's actually very nice as in most countries, you'll only know about their unique laws once you're arrested. Saudi welcomes all people and their different beliefs, and you're way less likely to get in trouble here as a tourist than many other places in the world, including western countries, as most people in SA are considerate, especially for tourists, so the only way something might happen after all of these measures is in case of extreme negligence or intentional lawbreaking. 30% of the population aren't even Saudi nationals and are living in Saudi for jobs they hold, and they're appreciated and have been a part of society for decades, so it'd be farfetched to think it's gonna be a big deal for someone staying less than 6 months traveling around as our beloved guests and crimes are either pretty universal or very obvious as soon as you land here with a very basic idea about the Islamic way of life. I personally can't wait to see you and for you to experience what our huge country has to offer! I think you'll be pleasantly surprised ❤️

With Kingdom opening its doors for visitors, it is welcoming them to be part of the incredible Vision 2030 which will make Saudi Arabia one of the leading countries in the world. Oskar and Dan I truly enjoy your videos and have learned so much from your travel experiences. I may never go where you've gone, but I greatly benefit by viewing your videos. Many blessings to you two guys and please keep doing what you're doing and stay safe 😘

Amazing views indeed! I could watch a whole video of the view itself! Can’t wait to see the rest of the series! 👌
