Vodka is a bad idea, because alcohol evaporates quickly. Leave a bottle of rubbing alcohol open and mark the levels before that with marker. Withing couple of days you will see alcohol missing out of the plastic bottle. Also alcohol evaporates even in closed plastic bottle over time. Plastic is porous, it has micro-pores for gas to escape. Alcohol produces fumes, as it's not solid water. In short...it will evaporate, especially as you hit it.

Vodka actually doesn't sound like a bad idea. Vodka is 40% alcohol. Alcohol has a very low freezing point and thus, vodka also has a lower freezing point than water. Also, alcohol is a great disinfectant. Alcohol of 40% concentration or higher prevents almost any bacteria, algae, or fungi from growing. The only problem is alcohol is highly flammable, and computer components generate a lot of heat. So.... FOR SCIENCE!!!!

Well alcohol vaperates and I'm not sure those tubings won't get damaged(over time obvsly) and the freezing advantage is irrelevant xD at 40% its not realy "flamable", so basicly the outcome would be simillar to antifreeze(what he did before) but anyhow it would be fun to watch and jay would have the worst hangover of his life if he'd be sippin' that vodka like bud light xD

XoticPC!!!! Best company ever. Never seen this video for some reason. They upgraded my gaming laptop.... went from a 1050ti to 2 full size 1070ti sli with custom coolers and fans. And literally made it all fit in the same laptop case. Only issue I had was the touchpad, the top right corner doesn't seat properly. The 2nd card just barely clears.... and who uses the touch pad anyways. Love that company

Beer lines/pipes are basically the same tubes we use for water-cooling so what will most likely happen long-term is exactly the same thing that happens to beer lines if they don't get cleaned regularly. All the yeast will start to separate and cling to the tubes and you'd need some type of pipe cleaning detergent to pull the yeast off. Basically if you really wanted to run this long-term, you'd have to clean it at least weekly, maybe even twice a week with a proper anti-yeast beer line cleaning solution (that stuff is powerful, like a 40:1 dilution for the stuff we use in the UK), and putting fresh beer in afterwards. Sufficed to say it would be very high maintenance. We have gallons and gallons of beer going through our lines and the yeast still builds up after about a week even with fresh beer being constantly pulled into and poured out of the system so leaving the same old beer in there will probably require cleaning and replacing even more regularly. If you were able to include a chilling unit (so that the beer gets chilled as it passes through a certain point in the loop) and an electrolytic filter, you may be able to stretch the maintenance cycle for about 14-21 days but no more than that. Basically you'd have to treat it as though it was a real draught beer line and maintain it the way pubs have to maintain there pipes in order for it to be viable long-term. Although why would you unless your a maniac like jay 😉

This is a cool idea. I'm no beer expert, but I haven't seen anybody else speak up about how beer works. I wouldn't be worried about leaving beer in that system for long periods of time. Bacteria can't grow in beer due to alcohol content so it isn't going to rot. Yeast isn't a concern in this case either because beer from the can is pastuerized so the the yeast is long since dead and likely filtered out anyway. The beer will go flat and the flavor will likely change from being heated over and over again, but other than that theres not much to worry about (dunno about how it will affect the pump or seals). It should not for any reason rot, ferment, or turn into an algae filled mess. To avoid the foam, I would pour all the beer into a pitcher first, then use a hose to siphon the beer from the pitcher into the resivoir. Better yet, to avoid wierd interactions with oxygen and the beer; fill the empty lines with CO2 ahead of time, connect a keg of beer straight to the the system and try to fill your system without any oxygen. This could help preserve better the beer and keep it drinkable... possibly.

A couple years late but here's what's happening when it got foamy whilst running: Unlike solids (like salt), the solubility of gasses *decreases* as the temperature of fluid rises. So when you unscrewed the cap and released some pressure, the gas in the solution rapidly effervesces causing a large amount of foam.

On a more serious note, have you considered using an additive such as Purple Ice? It's made for race cars that can't use antifreeze due to the potential for leaks or spills on the track. If it can keep a hot rod cool, I'm curious to see what it would do in a custom loop in a PC.

I did not expect it to be *HUGE* when I bought it though Supports E-ATX, 8 HDD's, two 420mm radiators has a removable radiator bracket, soundproofing that dampens enough noise to make a 780 ti (probably the loudest card in existence) sound like a quiet hum, you can even remove the motherboard tray to use it as an open test bench! It's a great case, overkill for my needs Side note, it's 90% steel so it's heavy *AF*

Thierry Neuville (BEL) did it to his Hyundai i20 WRC during Rally Mexico a few years ago (2014). Punctured radiator lost all water and he needed some cooling liquid after a temporary fix of the puncture. The closest thing was a two liter bottle of Corona beer from one of the fans. So it can be also used for cooling engines. He is currently leading WRC championship in this season and still drives for Hyundai.

That cap was either brass or copper. Aluminum is usually white when it oxidizes, sometimes black. Copper and brass turn green when oxidizing. Brass has aluminum in it, so it's more corrosive resistant, therefore, that cap is most likely copper.
