One thing I like about the "love triangle" is the fact that it's the boys being all emotional and looking to define the relationship and the girl isn't like basking in the attention. Wednesday is just trying to live her life, she'd rather be reading a book or something.

The love triangle is truly painful. Like Wednesday CLEARLY has no interest in these guys, yet they act all betrayed like she was stringing them along for just...existing near them?? Enid and Ajax also feel straight out of the early 2000s with ripe miscommunication and a forced relationship. I think if they were going to have a relationship in this show it should've been Wednesday and Enid, but better yet they should've kept the teenage crush angst out of this show because it just doesn't fit.

I have LITERALLY been screaming about how she showed not a drop of interest in boys, romantically or even platonically! And then I laughed at the fact that fanart of Wednesday, Enid, and even Eugene is all over the place because Wednesday ACTUALLY gave a promise corpse about them. If Netflix wasn’t gonna give us a reason to gaf about the love triangle, then we’re gonna find something else to care about~

I TOTALLY AGREE!!! They pushed the romantic relationships too far, it wasn't natural, and I thought it was totally unnecessary for her to have those romantic partners. I don't know if they thought doing that would make her more "interesting" or whatever the fuck was on their minds, I just know it didn't work. Wednesday is an independent character, she doesn't need anyone and especially....she doesn't need a love, she's powerful on her own and that's how it should be, it's part of who she is.

Seriously! She seems pretty aro/ace to me (maaaaybe demi), and on top of that, she's super mean to them, lol. Given how she acts, on what planet would they think she liked them? And even more, why do they like her? They don't even give good reasons for why they'd pursue her this hard. It's bad enough in general that the only reason people get together in most TV/movies is because they're attractive, but that doesn't work when Wednesday's written to not care at at all. It was just a bad idea to try to shoehorn that in there.

SHE ONLY BLINKS WHEN SHES UNCOMFORTABLE!!! It’s social anxiety ! Anytime she has to “act human” she gets uncomfortable 😂

Don’t forget Wednesday isn’t really mean, when she says things like not good terrible like Ivan she’s basically trying to cover herself. She says at the very start that she sees emotions as weakness. But look how she actually looks after her brother and Eugene. There’s also a hint at that when they said she’s named Wednesday after the poem “Wednesday’s child is full of woe” but Wednesday was born on Friday the 13th and Friday’s child is loving and giving- which is her true nature. She just has a deadpan macabre sense of humour.

Fun fact : Jenna Ortega wanted the original Addams family theme song to play whenever she was supposed to snap twice

Xavier was not working at the coffee shop. All the kids had to work somewhere on Outreach Day. They each picked a piece of paper that told them where they would be spending the day to give time to the community. Xavier ending up choosing the coffee shop and he was not happy about it.

FINALLY! I absolutely HATE Tyler and Xavier. Not really, but I find them very annoying and entitled. I never wanted Wednesday to have any love interests but I accept that she needs some friends and allies. The love V is such a overused trope and I don't see any chemistry between them. That's the only thing I dislike about the show.

Jenna has a quote, "Maybe Enid is just in love with Wednesday," and "Men are the last ones that would be in Wednesday's mind." Jenna literally mentioned the love triangle being unnecessary, and the writers told her not to worry bc it won't happen and that she will fight for the sake of Wednesday's character. Do your research, and stop gaslighting yourself. That is a form of ignorance and proof that you are not paying attention to the interviews.

Finally people who have the same doubt as me... like Wednesday has this dark vibe, and talks about death and stuff, but she's investigating a series of murders like it's some kind of news?! Since the whole franchise shows us that this subject is even a joke in her family...

Thank you Rizzo! That was my one biggest gripe was how Morticia and Gomez weren't in character. They would have wanted Wednesday to be whatever she wants. Not try to make her into them. That drove me crazy.

I’ve watched the original and some people don’t like the choice in Gomez but he’s pretty accurate and fits at least to me they stayed pretty true to the original family wise while giving Wednesday her own story, I really enjoyed this show not gonna lie the boys did stress me out 😂 I was kinda rooting for Tyler, Xavier was a crybaby and the hand actor for THING is Victor Dorobantu he never acted before and like you said he gives the hand personality lol love the reaction ❤

I like this show. My friend kept telling me watch this show & I enjoyed it. Enid's hair is like Harley Quinn's. When I saw the monster, I was like "what is that thing?!" Episode 4 with the dance is my favourite one.

I honestly agree. Pushing romance tropes onto characters even without the actual romance is really annoying. I will say that we do see Wednesday having a small romance (in the movies) but forcing Wednesday into a romantic relationship, especially when she is not really wanting one (seems more like an Ace Gworl). I can understand if it's part of a plot but if it's unnecessary, there's no need to push it. Evidently, Wednesday want to live her life as an amazing female writer... With much love... Their love stories don't ever end well. Someone normally dies or they don't go into the market at all if it means being called out for being a lesbian.

okay i've just come up with this based on 15:15, but full headcanon, tyler and xavier actually were dating/hooking up on the dl, but tyler was friends with the other pilgrims, and they peer pressured him into destroying the mural and assaulting tyler. so tyler, because he is the sheriff's son only got a court order to do therapy for this, and obviously him and xavier didn't speak anymore. tyler decided to stop hanging out with the other guys and try to just be out of trouble. xavier meanwhile started dating bianca, and it was going well, until she used her siren song on him, so they broke up. whenever Wednesday brings up tyler he tells her to steer clear. when he has to work at the weathervane, that's the first time they talked in a year. tyler tries to apologize and tell him how he's working on himself but xavier is simply having none of it. and they both get mad when they see Wednesday with the other, but for different reasons. i frankly stan

I was excited to see your reaction to this! I wasn't sure how I felt after the first episode but I kept watching. I generally liked it but more of the mystery aspects with the monster. The high school stuff was like every other high school show and it felt like those aspects weren't really Wednesday or Addams family. I also didn't enjoy how they sort of gave us backstory on the other characters but didn't really explore it. Like by the end I was like hold up that's all I get!! Anyway as always love your reaction!!

Honestly when I first saw that it came out it I didn’t think I would like it so I put off watching it for a bit but surprisingly I actually like it. It’s so so extremely good. Love it. I don’t really know that much about the Adams family but I think that Jenna did a fantastic job as Wednesday. Can’t wait to see you two react to the other episodes! Love the videos! I can't be the only one who although low-key hated the love triangle, understood where it came from? The other movies of the Addams family, on both occasions, featured her liking a boy. So, it's not too farfetched for her to like a boy. Also, in the other movies it seems like they just don't shy away from hard-to-talk things, but never go as far as actual murder etc. So it's not surprising for me to see her shocked about her dad being a murderer, her possibly killing an entire school etc. They're not a family of murder so to say, they're just different if that makes sense

This show has a ridiculous number of love triangles but my main complaint is how they messedwith the family dynamic. Also a bit disapointed that after so many adaptions embrassing the idea that the regular folk are often the problem they went this route.
