I’m a pediatric ICU nurse and based off Zane’s description of the pedestrian, the “is he responsive” question is extremely hard to answer. They can’t expect non-medical people to answer that accurately.

It can be difficult to answer when that question can be a different standard to other people. And to the guy on the line with zane didn’t help with his attitude like I get it this is your job but help him out when a life could be in potential danger.

@John Weiss if you’re the EMT on the call it should be an easy for you to deduct based on Zane’s answer but that wasn’t the case. Zane was being as descriptive as he can and doing his part

The Matt slander in the comments is upsetting. :( Nobody is perfect. The comments aren’t even criticizing him, just being straight up rude. He adds so much to this podcast, especially when there is a guest.

It sucks because he's probably going through withdrawals and trying his best to control it. My dad was extremely irritable and "rude" for what seemed like forever after he quit smoking but it was because he was dealing with a lot from withdrawals. It's an adjustment period and he still has to do his job during it.

I'm a paramedic student, so part of my degree is working shifts on the ambulances to gain experience. The paramedics have no say on when or where they get sent to it is all up to the call taker and dispatcher. (I am speaking from South Africa so it might be different in America but I'm pretty sure it is a universal system) But the bottom line is that call taker should be fired. Most of the time people are calling for an ambulance in the worst moments of their life, of course they are going to be frustrated and panicked so to be so incompetent at your job that you hang up on someone possibly going to cost someone their life is the lowest of low. But what I'm trying to say is that majority of paramedics are in this profession because they want to help people and when they get dispatched they will get there as soon as possible (if a long time is taken it will either be due to a very busy shift with other calls of higher priority or shitty call takers/dispatchers like the guy Zane was on the phone with)

this is frustrating because the dispatcher should’ve asked a different type of question to get to the answer that he wanted from zane. repeating the same questions is a waste of time when there’s a person in a critical condition. this is just- UGH! the dispatcher should assume (at all times) that the caller have no prior medical experience. talking to the caller in a calm manner and giving steps should always be the way to go!

As someone who has adhd I can relate to Matt. I always interrupt. My mind goes a mile a minute. And you honestly don’t mean any harm by it. I found that I interrupt because I love when I have a something in common with them and their story. I’m trying to show that I understand. Ex her mom a mail woman and him with the video game. It’s a connection. The way he went hard with hocus pocus 2 we tend to realllyyy dive deep into things that we are very interested in and are very passionate about. He is passionate about movies. Just try to be more kind. We don’t know what someone may have. We don’t know if he takes adhd medication and is trying to get off. Let’s just try to be kind. ❤

Yes! Matt brings in so much to the podcast equally as the other three. It’s almost as if I avoid the comment section bc of the negative comments be it for Matt, Heath, Mariah or Zane. They don’t deserve any of the hate and I completely agree maybe he wanted a break from his meds or is coming off of them. All in all we come here for a break, for a breath of fresh air from our lives that it’s ridiculous we critic their move when they bring us laughter and joy. If this was enough hate to end the podcast it would have ended a long time ago cuz hate comments never end but I’m glad the podcast exists they bring me so much laughter and all their laughs are contagious I’m grateful we have this podcast with all four and of course guests as well! ☺️

i feel like from a far you would think this ..but i'm a zane and my best friend is literally matt and she cares to be right or correct people but i dont actually cares about always being right ahaha like it doesnt give me the same satisfaction/validation as it does her (matt) dont get me wrong tho i also do know when im right sometimes but when you are normally incorrect, people just assume your dumb unfortunately lol. Theres deffo parts where Matt helps out zane and tbf me also being a zane i appreciate the help and guidance because i get overwhelmed like he does. zane thrives in other ways :)

I live on the Gulf and it just barely missed us. I can’t believe how much of everything is underwater. I am so incredibly grateful that it missed us and my heart goes out to everyone who lost everything.

When I do something stupid in traffic and they pull up next to me.. I act like I’m on the phone in a hurry and the person on the phone is yelling at me 🤣💀💀

Ambulance and health care thing in America is just crazy.. In Estonia where I live and most European countries the ambulance and health care is free or very cheap. Love you guys 🥰 big fan from the beginning 😉

SW Florida local here. The hurricane sucked, and it stinks to see my hometown destroyed. Thankful my family and I are okay, but it was awful to go through. Just got power back this Sunday (two weeks w/o it). Thank you for shedding light on it.

Hey I'm from Tampa Bay and I'm glad you and your family are okay! There was a period where my family and I thought it'd be a direct hit to us and it was terrifying. I'm so grateful that it didn't do lasting damage here (we went through Irma and it was horrible so I was expecting it to be like that) but my heart breaks for the people who were hit more severely just a little south of us. Hurricane season might get more and more intense as years go by and I hope our government recognizes that and puts more preventative measures in place after this aftermath.

MATT - please pay your medical bill the amount it is asking or work with their payment plan because since you were under anesthesia they can put your home/car/property on a lean for payments. Hearing about Hurricane Ian makes me so sad. So many people lost their lives and their homes/cars, and the news NEVER confirmed it, EVER. They were accepting volunteers to help with debris clean up and those volunteers witnessed thousands of people who passed away just lying there underneath debris. It was such a horrific time, my heart goes out to those who suffered through it.

You guys always make me laugh no matter how depressed or bored I feel truly makes my day
