We Visit Salisbury - England's Most Beautiful City? 😍
We visit Salisbury in Wiltshire which is often labelled one of the most beautiful cities in England.
Known across the world for Salisbury Cathedral, the most beautiful cathedral in the UK, it's abundance of medieval history and it's close proximity to the UK's most famous tourist attraction - Stonehenge!
Join as we explore the city before making the short drive to Old Sarum Castle (the site where Salisbury once stood) and of course ending our day at the world's most famous stone circle.
📍Recorded January 2024 in Salisbury, Wiltshire England

Enjoyed your video a lot. Whilst watching it I realised I first visited the area for a weekend (from London) 51 or 52 years ago (1971 or '72 I think), spending a couple of nights in nearby Wilton (probably a cheap b&b), visiting Salisbury, Old Sarum & Stonehenge & getting about by bus or on foot after the train from London. I've been back to Salisbury in more recent years, on a much less tight budget, and certainly agree the Cathedral is beautiful & with a magnificent location, as well as to the not too distant Bath. Whilst having a car now makes the whole area much more easily accessible I'm glad I got to visit it so long ago before Stonehenge, in particular, became so 'developed' with tourist infrastructure.
You guys are terrific with your banter! So naturally wonderful to watch and listen to how you interact with each other. Match made in Heaven. Thanks for sharing!🙏
I love watching your vids. I live in Australia and it means I learn a lot about the UK. 😊
Salisbury is a favourite of mine.
When I was a teenager, we used to hang out on Cathedral's lawn and make out with our sweet hearts
Great video, thank you very much! Happy New Year to you!

Priorities; 1) where’s the coffee ☕️ 2) where’s the toilet 🚽 3) rest of the day 😂
It's not publicised very well - but although English Heritage are in charge of the Stones, National Trust are in charge of the land surrounding so if you have National Trust membership you can get in to the Stones with that, you don't have to have English Heritage membership. We had NT membership and got in a couple of years ago so hopefully still the same now. It's worth getting NT if you're doing a lot of tourist stuff round England.

Thank you for sharing that useful information. We knew the land around it was managed by the National Trust but didn’t know you could potentially use your membership to gain entry. We are both NT and English Heritage members so wasn’t a problem for us either way but we definitely make more use of our NT membership!
Hi, I feel when you do these type of vlogs I learn more than I have learnt at school, it's maybe because it's down South and we never learnt English history or i may iust have selective hearing (you decide)😅😂. So for £26 you walk miles, look at Stones, that it? 😂😂

Hey fella, Salisbury is a nice town for sure but nowhere near England’s most beautiful. What about Cambridge, Oxford, Winchester, Bath, York for starters. Also the Cathedral is notable for its wonderful spire, however there are numerous Cathedrals finer, e.g. Canterbury, Durham, York, Winchester, Norwich. However of course you’re entitled to your own opinions and good for you for making this video, good luck 😊

I believe the man handing the KING a bum rag was called, the Privy Council. He always had the ear of the King ( and the other end 🍑) , he was considered to have the most sway with the King, given the intimate nature of their relationship. Not a job , I would aspire to but , I hear they really cleaned up in the position. 🤣

The Privy Council was originally the monarch's chief advisors, the council still exists and includes all current and former cabinet ministers plus a few other politicians etc. The full council only ever meets when a new monarch ascends the throne but a small amount of members meet regularly with the King to rubberstamp certain laws. The person who was in charge of the monarch's toilet was the Groom of the Stool or Stole this job was abolished a long time ago. Privy in the sense of Privy Council means private and has nothing to do with lavatories
