Just wanted to throw out a few tips... 1) You don't need to hit grass with tools get dew to drop, you can punch it to save durability on your tools. 2) A recent patch changed the way you peep creatures. Its E now rather than clicking. If you don't see a outline with ??? on a creature, you've already peeped that one. 3) remember to use your sight and hearing. Bugs tend to make a lot of noise and seeing grass being bent means somethings big and maybe mean is over there. 4) I would recommend making a weevil shield, use that and a 1 handed weapon makes fighting bugs so much easier early game. 5)Since you're in a group maybe have some defined combat roles as well, like 1 can draw aggro of hostile bugs (there's armor sets that specialize in that). Hopes this helps!

The weevil shield carried through my first playthrough. Tbh honest I had no idea perfect block was a thing so crafting the red ant club got me killed so many times lol.

Also don't pass up on the smithing station it doesn't really do much for tier 1 armors but tier two armors it helps a lot even if it doesn't increase much in stats every little bit helps

@@revolvingzyclon6901 the most important change is that any durability loss is refreshed when you upgrade them without needing to repair.

The more ants you kill the angrier they'll get, they'll go from "the ants are aware of your presence" to "the ants are annoyed by you" to "the ants hate you" and each time there will be a notification above your food/water/health/stamina until they get so fed up with you that they decide to attack your base, trying to destroy it (there will be a message warning you at the top of your screen when they're about to attack) also I'm using ants as a placeholder for most creatures in this game

I love how aenna is just going full bofuri and killing small time creatures over and over. That shit adds up. Love the base building price! Please keep going with this series.

Yikes that scared me so much when Ash turned around to the massive spider. I almost jumped out of my skin lol, I'm too arachnophobic to really be watching this but I love everything else about the game so I shall persist

the cycle of death and saving during the Ant VS Lady Bug fight was so funny yet also heartwarming lol. 😂 so awesome y'all could grab all those resources, I'm sure it will come in handy for making a new base using ant gear to carry more stuff and then using ant gear to go unnoticed into the mound later 🤞(and yes to y'all pointing out that that Rotten Bee armor that was in the mound is story elements trying to tell the player how dangerous this mini world can be, how many other tiny ppl have died in this yard??? D: ) I yelped and felt my skin crawl when Ash turned to face that Wolf Spider!! but it was hilarious his retelling of the chat telling him to RUN lolol 🤣 very wise of Price to start work on the next base cuz after all that ant killing they may way revenge. would recommend building on scaffolding for some height away from the critters but mindful that most spots near the pond are traveled by spiders so be careful. looking forward to more of this series, love seeing the team work and communication. it's hard to find a full 4 player run of this game and love that y'all came back to it now it's fully released. Aenne (and Rik) being a real trooper for playing (and editing) this game with their spider fears. I honestly can only watch cuz i think i am too scared to play myself lol. keep up the great work!

Smoothies give you instant health instead of slow regen as bandages. Questionable smoothies are made of any 3 objects, so they are easy to make and a great option for combat. There are better smoothies but you got to collect different resources to make them, so it could take a while.

Soooo you’re are telling me questionable smoothie is more easier to make *TONS* when I say *TONS* i mean it if so *THIS IS GOOD TIP TO KNOW HAHAHAHAH*

Fair warning the big ants are soldier ant and are aggressive to anything not an ant. Also worker ants will attack you if you fight the big ants in their presence, hence why you were getting swarmed. I'd recommend making spears or a sprig bow and hitting a soldier ant from afar to lure it away from its fellow ants.

I'm so happy to watch you guys play this game again. Now you got tons of ant parts and resources!

Fun fact for the stumped team if you're wanting to hunt something but you're preferring to do third person and not wanted to go in first person look at the white middle reticle dot in the middle of your screen and line it up with your spear if you're wanting to throw it at something from a distance

I've been playing this game a lot recently huge thanks to Stumpt for always turning me onto great co-op games they got me into overcooked and then into this and ive always loved watching them play stardew while i play it

Another advice to avoid early spiders is to use torches as less as possible. It looks like it attracts spiders and other creatures.

I usually use pebbles to throw to the water drop. I'm finding it more convenient than trying to find a proper grass and chop it. I think you could actually throw or shoot anything in this case.

Also, you can fix items on your hotbar by manually dragging them, otherwise the game automatically asigns slots and keeps changing them. The hotbar is like a quick access, every object on your hotbar is on your inventory or your armor slots, that can cause some confusion.

There should be an old ant hill near the tree that has SOME worker ants in it but there's not a whole bunch going on in the hill

Ya'll... I'm glad it worked out but it probably would have been wise to wait for things to cool down before throwing yourselves in front of the ladybug a dozen times XD

Build the red ant armor series and equip it to the get its bonus. You will be viewed as one of them and will not be attacked, you can swagger in and out of there nest

Don’t kill aphids because they passively give you honeydew which if you eat it heals you and gives you hunger and water so kill the weevils instead

Do they know they can block attacks

Since you last played, "blocking" attacks became super important. Go practice on the red mites. Editing my earlier comment to add some context. First of all, thanks. Thanks for introducing me to this game. I've had a great time playing it with my kids. And we even watched your earlier video series and subsuscribed because we enjoyed your gameplay so much! Some time after your last videos on Grounded, the gamesmiths tinkered with the combat system in three important ways. First, they added a means of "upgrading" weapons and armor. Why this is super-important is because the damage for tier 1, tier 2 and tier 3 weapons was nerfed significantly if you had an un-upgraded weapon on (a hypothetical) Monday, and the patch went into effect on Tuesday. So, a fully upgraded tier 1 spear, for example, would do the same damage as a normal spear before that patch. This might not seem very significant yet, but where you'll "feel" the difference in the early game is with armor. It is going to stop less if it is not upgraded, and fail faster. The gamesmiths tinkered around with the formulas for upgrading quite a lot. You should get a smithing station and examine what you need and start looking for the resources. And beware... those resources are finite (at this time). Second, the "perfect blocking" system really started to catch on. If you "perfect block" an enemy attack, you take no damage to yourself or your blocking tool (at this time). You can search youtube for videos of others taking out Wolf Spiders without armor for an example of how important blocking can be to combat! And I, for one, like this system. It adds skill in recognizing attack patterns of the insects to combat. Moreover, if you perfect block enough, you can get mutations that will help you block even better. And if you can get Koi Scale Armor, you can increase the perfect-block window, making it easier to consistently block the harder tripple attack patterns. Third, healing has improved dramatically. You can even make area-effect bomb heals that could allow a healer class to stand back and splash the tanks when they get low. But the key heals are farmable, allowing players to have a stack of non-spoiling (at this time), smoothies in your inventory to heal while fighting. And this is super important for the Haze Lab, Black Ant Lab and other end-game content. I'm glad you guys have returned to the game. If you poke around, you can find all sorts of secrets burried throughout the map. And the game has come a LONG way since you played. There is easily double, if not tripple the content. Enjoy!
