at my high school, you were allowed to wear whatever shoes you wanted, as long as they were closed-toed shoes, and had backed on them, And you were allowed to wear scarves, and leggings and bracelets and do your makeup.

Megan _ I did wear a uniform. I was able to rewear the shirts with cardigans. The bottoms I was able to use for my first job’s uniform. Then I cut them into shorts.

@@haileyparsons3844 in my school you only had the option during certain months of winter. I belive from april to august (I live in Chile), beyond that months you must wear the skirt. I think once I got suspended in 7th grade for wearing pants in september 🤣 nuns were so strict

HOBO DUMPTY I agree that it’s stupid. We’re not allowed to show our back, shoulders or stomach and there’s a limit to how short skirts can be. However, they let us wear shorts on non uniform day so they’re not too strict that day. For normal school days we have to wear black, polishable shoes which are matte. On non uniform and normal days we’re not allowed heels. You also can’t wear more than one ring on each hand and not allowed more than one bracelet. Only one earring per ear and only natural hair colours Things like covering skin is to prevent boys being prevented (stupid yes) and others are to keep a good reputation

I'm a cosplayer and I own a lot of anime school uniform. I always wanted to wear them as a casual look but I have no idea how to style it. But after seeing this, it kinda gives me some inspiration tho. Maybe I'll try doing it by styling something with the skirt first

Japan have a lot of pop fashion styles, and there are ppl still rocking school uniforms styles even if they are longer students. I think seifuku-kei is suitable to your interest here ☺️ It's part of japanese pop fashion since the 90s, especially lose socks were popular lol

Finally someone said it!! I was wondering why they buttoned the shirts up, all the way to the top too - at least for my uniform, I didn't have to button the top button. And yeah, leaving it open to wear something else would have looked so cool and be easier to style too. I also thought Lindsay could've worn the blazer for daytime look, paired with that navy pants she had and it would have been sort of like the office lady power look (though perhaps a tad too stiff for Buzzfeed, ha, or accessorize it up for less formality)

In the second outfit Lindsay looks like a girl from a movie who has just hang out with her boyfriend and he gave her his jacket.♥ Sorry for any mistakes, I'm from Italy.

As an American who never had to wear uniforms but then studied abroad and had to wear them I love uniforms tbh. I looked different from other students as an American so it was an equalizer between me and them. It made me feel like a proper student and gave me business-casual confidence. I never had to think about what to wear in the morning 5 days a week, and thus put more energy into weekend outfits and felt extra cute on free days. They're pretty comfy almost always besides extra hot or extra cold days. Stop bashing uniforms y'all.

My uniform used to be trousers, shirt with the logo and a jumper (I always wore jeans with them though- like everyone else so they changed it maybe two years ago now to grey trousers and skirts and blazers and the hole thing)

“I was wearing it how I wanted to.” Yeah but Jazz, you don’t get to do that at school. You customise within the boundaries of the rules. For me, I got to pick my skirt as long as it was black or pick my shoes or jacket - although I couldn’t wear it in class.

I honestly love having a uniform it makes life so much easier. We wear a yellow polo and a dark green skirt and I love it.

I had to wear a uniform from kindergarten to senior year. I cannot tell you how freeing it was going to college and being able to just wear SWEATPANTS when I was sleepy or on my period. There was still a “good” uniform look and a “bad” uniform look, even tho we all wore the same thing. It’s not always an equalizer, for me it was a showcasing of how the uniforms fit plus sized people like me differently. You could tell who could afford newer uniforms and who had been wearing the same pieces for years.
