Actually, Jollibee’s menu, with the exception of the pies and the burger, is inspired about how Filipinos celebrate their kids’ birthday parties. Usually they serve big portions of fried chicken, spaghetti, spring rolls (which we call lumpia) and hotdogs to their guests. Basically Jollibee’s business model is geared towards kids (which explains why the spaghetti is sweet) and as they grow up, they continue to patronize Jollibee and pass it on to their kids and so on and so forth. That’s why Jollibee is the no.1 fastfood chain in the Philippines beating Mcdonalds and KFC by a mile.

True, kids party fare. In fact, McD Philippines started serving spaghetti as a result of a focus group that suggested including a noodle or pasta in their menu because Filipino-Chinese celebrate birthdays with long noodles for “long” life. Yes, I know because my wife was part of the team that suggested spaghetti in McD’s menu. Jollibee uses banana ketchup? Nah. That’s just the story being propagated. It’s canned tomato sauce and paste plus sugar. Ask them.

Hi Guys, I understand your sentiments regarding Jollibee. Because as the saying;"Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder" so is "Savor is in the palate of the taster". There are Jollibee branches at Earl's Court, Cardiff and Edinburg. And I heard that more to come in London. BTW, you're right that Pilipinos have "Sweet Tooth". In fact the Spaghetti is kinda sweet because of BANANA CATSUP. Never heard of it? But in the small packet, when in says Catsup/Ketsup, it means made from Tomatoes. I was hoping you'll ordered the Aloha Burger (top of the line), Spicy Chicken and the Peach Mango Pie that Foreigners loved so much. Pls don't pass the chance while you're still in the Philippines to gorge yourself the World's Famous Philippine Mango that was Awarded by the Guinness Book Of World Records as the Best, Delicious and the Sweetest Mango in the World (of course the ripe ones). It's rare and expensive outside the Philippines. In fact, Head of States and Diplomats immediately ask for Philippine Mangoes the moment they arrive in the Philippines. Thanks Guys. Have Fun and be safe always. Godspeed!!!

I agree with you about the sugar. As you know, this "sugar phenomenon" only happened 25 years ago. It was NOT that way before. Food was always without sugar, in many cases. This time around, they have abused the use of sugar and that's sad. Precisely why I don't go to Jollibees at all although I promote it for others to enjoy. I just cannot stand sweet mayonnaise either which was shocking when I bought a big jar several years ago in my visit there. I was so angry at my sister who did not even tell me. She was happy that she inherited the biggest mayonnaise jars! Grrrr. Still, Jollibee is building a fast-food empire abroad and so far, it's winning. Good luck to them. It has branches in the UK as you know, Madrid, Italy etc. Cheers from Spain!

Sugar can definitely be used to make delicious food, and we are partial to some sweet treats occasionally, but (for us) it's to be consumed on occasions where you want something sweet. That being said, for us it's just a personal preference and if others want their food sweet then that's up to them 😋

First food is spring rolls, we call it Shanghai Lumpia, minced pork with veggies. Fun fact, vloggers in the US always say the chicken skin is crispier than others 😊. This is what i googled, Heinz started making the stuff in 1876 under the name catsup but switched the name to ketchup a few years later to make their product stand out. Prior to the switch, most everyone called the sauce “catsup.” Nowadays, catsup and ketchup can be used either way. Catsup is more used in the Southern U.S. Fun fact, Jollibee has around 10 stores in the UK. thanks for trying Jollibee and giving an honest review 😊❤👌

I guess that did give the impression that Jollibee serves banana ketchup in those little sachets. In fact, I do not believe Jollibee uses banana ketchup in their spaghetti sauce as many say. They simply add a little more sugar than maybe Italians do. But mind you, even many Italians, put just a small amount of sugar in their tomato-based sauces to balance out the acidity. Filipinos just enjoy their food on the sweeter side. As with all things, it is a matter of preference though. I don’t like too much sugar.
