Hey Guys! Welcome back to the channel. Today we are attempting to make our own personal hand mold with the main focus being on the engagement ring. We want to make one of these before and after we get married! Hopefully this works!

I have another question. I’ve done this a few times and they came out great. I did one for my mother yesterday and was planning to take it out this morning but I have a raging migraine. How long can I leave the casted hand in the mold before I “demold” it?

  • @KlariColinVlogs

To be honest we just followed the instructions. I am not sure if you leave it in longer that it will mess things up. It might be worth calling their customer service and asking if you are concerned. I hope it comes out perfect! We might do another one soon! And hopefully you feel better :)

@@KlariColinVlogs FYI I got an answer from the company. They said it shouldn’t stay in the mold any longer than 48 hours. Any advise about mixing the casting powder? Once I do the mold I mix the casting powder with water. The directions saying to mix with a whisk. When I de-mold the hand is so full of little bubbles. It’s so hard to try to get those tiny bubbles off the cast. I fill up the mold a little and roll it around to fill all the nooks and crannies. I knock and tap the bubbles out. But it’s still full of tons of bubbles once I de-mold the hand.

eizhowa so we used baby oil and lathered our hands in it before we put our hands in the mold. That way it was easy for us to slip out without it sticking!

I’m about to do this casting on my mother this weekend. She has long nails. The instructions say to put something under the nails so the mold nails won’t break off. They say clay but I’m afraid the clay will stick to the mold as she pulls her hand out. Any suggestions?

Honestly not sure. Klarissa didn’t have long nails at the time so we didn’t have to worry about that. Wish we could help more. Sorry 😞

I think just use some Vaseline before dipping honey. Save a lil bit of the powder so you can paint it on after for any imperfections

@@katied3849 Wouldn’t vaseline come off in the mold? Kind of make an oily spot the would mess up the casting liquid? Just don’t want to screw it up & waste it. Thanks

Some people have suggested using more lubricant on the hands. We only used baby oil. But I have seen others suggest using Vaseline. I’m honestly not sure what else went wrong but it missed our fingers a little bit. So maybe more stirring?

@@KlariColinVlogs Hey! We just did it and it turned out pretty good! I found out that you should hold your hands together very tight. If you have a loose grip and the fingers arent touching each others hands a lot, your finger will create its own hole making it hard for the liquid to travel up into it. So either the fingers need to be at the lowest point or hold on tight! Ours turned out good! Under my thumb is a little funky but its all good!
