LTA should provide GIRO service so that we do not have to pay credit card or debit card service providers for a fee to top up.

what if the carpark gantry requires you to remove the cash card to manually insert/tap? Need to bend down and to retrieve the card under the passenger compartment while stopping at a slope(typical CP setting)... Are these typical factors considered?

Dumb and dumber: LTA edition. Sit in office too long to not know this it not viable, but enforcing it anyway.

Problem 1: 1 erp unit become 3 units. waste of ALOT of space in car Problem 2: Unable to install processing unit on driver side or specific areas to facilitate insert of cash card. How are you going to insert cash card during an emergency? if driving a car model like this vid, where the processing unit is installed at the passenger side, how are u gonna insert a cash card on time? value aside, what if cash card requires a re-insertion due to some problem? how? Problem 3: The display unit is so big n obstructive. obstructs your view so much, how not to be not distracted? The scholar who designed this... i hope you are proud of your design/product, cos its absolutely backwards n garbo. ever heard of KISS? (keep it simple & stupid) THIS IS NOT SIMPLE AND STUPID.

CNA purposely use the biggest car to show how small the display is.

Nothing is seamless as we see fm the demo . This is the worse we could imagine as drivers in the road daily . Totally unacceptable

The placement of the unit for the CEPAS is SO EMBARRASSING! We now have to stretch out our arms so far away or go to the passenger seat just to input our card, WHAT???!!!

Can someone explain, if I am given a complimentary ticket for parking, it is so hard to take the CEPAS card out temporarily, so that the charges is not deducted fm my store value. How ah!

Try drive to JB custom and then u have to reach so far away to take out and put back your cash card. 😂😂

OMG...can't LTA made it smaller in size? CEPAS card and Antenna can be integrated as one complete unit????Touch screen display on the center console area.

didn't know that when you just touch the screen, $40 becomes $26. $14 just to touch the screen! Dang!

This is such outdated hardware. Can't believe we as drivers are being forced to adopt this outdated system. Waiting for complaints of obstructed forward view from drivers who also mount their handphones to the windscreen, or complaints about the touchscreen falling off when parked in hot sun, or passenger accidentally kicking the processing unit.

Looks like LTA never consulted a Human Factor Expert when designing this. The cashcard placement is the most unergonomic thing I have ever seen.

Ok whoever designed the cepas accessibility location may have a third tentacle sticking out the left side of their waist to easily access the card at will, but for the rest of us, we just need a simple location in front for our human limbs to easily reach the card so that we can pull it out to topup the thing so you can hopefully get better paid to hire better "engineers" for the sake of our country's future.

CNA should ask the LTA smart officer why bike only need 1 component but car needs 3. If bike can have the reader, GPS and processing in 1 housing, I dont see why we cannot use the same system. I understand bike has no touchscreen and it will be physically bigger if there is one. Let the people choose which one they prefer. Installing the processing at the passenger side is a super retarded method.

Still don't understand why there's a need for something so bulky when there is already a system that deducts directly from your account. Why can't we push for card less payment system when there is already a system available. Can we call for an interview of the designers and the person who approved this? What is their thought process behind this whole system? Is it just bulky because of the system that makes it calculate based on the distance travelled that they will be using in the future?

So many so many questions. So this obu number replace the iu number. So is it similar operation for registered car into condo or sentosa, tested? I don’t mind the touch screen, looks cute, could have been smaller, the card thing, I wonder where is a good place for that. No good answer, so many people take out the card for complimentary pass, or tap to flash pay, looks undoable in everybody’s opinion. Why not link the system with simplygo on the phone? And then have the phone scan barcodes for complimentary pass. Seems quite logical. Maybe ideas for 3.0.

The most feared system that makes you pay and pay is here. ERP2 uses gps to get your position so there is no need for ERP gantry anymore. So in long run, you will lost sense of which road is chargable and just pay whenever the systems say its ERP infront. Or worst, they can charge those who drive more and makes transportation and delivery more expensive. It can also technically detect speeding and issue summons! No need speed camera anymore..

Wow ... remember to slot in your card before driving into gantry ... Ehh ... GOV & Stupid LTA didnt do 100% check before implement this??? There are some carpark with is semi-auto ... means i need to pull out the card and tap at the exit panel ... Wahh .... really need to stretch here & there ahh ?? Now u need slot your card into the processing unit but at a location which is not convenient + an additional screen that is blocking your view. 😢 Now the front passenger have to do their part to slot the card for the driver to pay for ERP 😂😂😂

With the number of cars that need to install - why LTA cannot custom build a single PCB with GPS and cepas functionality. My phone can do both and it is smaller and lighter, and without an internal battery, it can surely fit in the shell of current OBU. Then drop the touch screen because that is totally unnecessary in the first place. Then driver don't have to reach over to insert card. Safety first. If need internal battery, coin cell for reduced functionality should be enough as well. LTA has the mass, so why need 3 components for such simple requirement?

as the presenter said, the display is optional information can be view via app on mobile phone, owner can opt for payment that deduct from your credit card if you worry that cepas card ran out of credit. but does hope erp3.0 can be cleaner and more sleek.

I am surprised why it still needs a Cash card. The solution should be using IU unique number to deduct the charges, and collect total bill at month end. Is it this was not done cos collecting at point of use means cash is moved daily faster?

This is super backwards.... waste of space, cash card slot is so FAR away from the driver. And a waste of time to get it installed.

I thought all these unnecessary “upgrade” only happen in Malaysia 😅

The stupid thing is, the card slot is at the passenger side. Is should be at the driver side for easy removal of card. For taxi grab drivers is too Risk for the card got stolen by unreasonable passengers. To whom design this unit on the passenger side is just to get promoted. Good planning LTA

COE is already so high which should be revised or scraped.. LTA should fellow HDB successful BTO balloting system. This is FAIR to the public if owning a car. Is this NEW changes benefit motorist or additional restriction for publicof buying new car ?. I think LTA should not add more restriction.
