    The Ponds cleanser is actually SO GOOD, but they weren’t doing it right. You have to take your dry hands and rub the cream all over your face with your hands, and then use a warm wet washcloth to wipe off all the excess. All my friends and I use it and nothing works better. I was at first hesitant to start using it because a makeup wipe is easier, but this makes my skin SO smooth right after and takes off absolutely everything!

    but even today not everyone does complicated routines. Sure, there's a community who does but most people don't fall into that community. I'm pretty sure people formulated or modified current complicated routines based off of the complicated routines from the past. And even then there's people who didn't follow long routines from the 50s either.

    I'm rather confounded by their feelings of "it's too much" when people on this very channel endorse the Korean skin care routine and that's many more steps and infinitely more expensive. And it's all the same reason! Women do this to be attractive, end of story, period paragraph. I do this stuff, it feels good and it's about self care on one level but it also speaks to the desire to be perceived as youthful and attractive. People don't change, been this way since day one.

    I too bought Pond’s (I used it today even) bc it’s so highly rated. It WORKS. I get dry patchy red skin if I don’t moisturize (sensitive dry skin & I live in hot dry weather year round) & this is the only thing that doesn’t make me oily!! Yass!! Try it it’s cheap (I get the one for dry skin)

    The trick with ponds cold cream, apply it to your skin with your fingers, then wipe it off with a warm damp cloth. Don’t dip the cloth into the pot, and don’t use tissue. The cloth has to be warm to get the cream off. When I switched to ponds, it changed my skin. Acne free for the first time in my life. Apply a good moisturizer afterwards, then go to bed, or apply makeup as usual.

    ok but the Pond’s makeup remover is the BEST! idk why more people don’t use it. it’s absolutely amazing. micellar water always leaves me feeling greasy or like i have some film on my face but the Pond’s cream is just refreshing and it works so well, it removes my 2-day waterproof brows in 1 swipe. you can swipe off your makeup so softly rather than scrubbing like you have to with most makeup wipes i’ve tried.

    Re: shaving... Ponds is great for shaving, but def will clog razor up. The best, I think, for sensitive skin is a good hair conditioner (without sulfates and the other scary bad stuffs). It's like magic! I've tried EVERYTHING else (except the shave butter from Harry's, which I just ordered to try,) and hair conditioners have always beat out even the "sensitive skin" shaving gels/creams/foams. Looking forward to trying the shave butter though!

  • @mjames8980
    @mjames89805 жыл бұрын

    Calling this 1950s beauty tips is a little bit of a stretch. I’m 27 and have always used cold cream, a neutrogena bar (I know that isn’t listed) and a face washer on my skin. I’m certain I’m not the only one as cold cream is nearly always sold out at my local pharmacy. It’s funny the people in the video are kind of mocking these products because it’s old fashioned and “a lot of work”, yet in the next sentence talk about how they can’t believe people in the earlier decades used so few products. Shows how much social media affects society these days, these same people probably get their skincare tips off KZread “beauty guru’s” that get money for endorsing products they probably don’t even use.
