If the doctor told you you have cancer. If the lawyer told you you lost everything. If you have gone through divorce, lost you job, lost your family, lost your friends. God has the final word on your life. Where is your focus? Your focus should be on God alone. He will bring you through!

Both of you have very valid points, and there’s truth in both. Jesus did not promise that we would have a pain free life - in fact, He said that in this world we will have trouble (john 16:33) However, the second part of that verse says to take heart, because Jesus has overcome the world! Yes, we will suffer. We will experience heartbreak. We will have to deal with whatever pain happens in our life. But we don’t have to do it alone. God does hear our prayer, He hears our cries out to Him. Psalm 22:24 says that, “He has not forgotten the one who is hurting. He has not turned away from his suffering. He has not turned his face away from him. He has listened to his cry for help.” Jesus will deliver us because He has the ultimate victory over the world. We may not even see it on this side of eternity, but one day we will. As for the churches in the “west”, I don’t think that any mistreatment we face can be compared to what Christians throughout other places of the world experience. But God placed us here for a reason, and them there for a reason. I don’t think we’re doomed to be lost simply because we don’t live in a country where Christians aren’t persecuted in the same way. For sure, there are some churches who have strayed from biblical truth. That’s been true for generations. God knew from the very beginning that we would be here today, living wherever we live, facing whatever we face. God is the same no matter where, when, or who we are. He is faithful and just and merciful and good to all of His children. As a Christian living in a country where I am not persecuted in the same way as others are for their beliefs, I think it is my duty to serve the needy, help the poor, and comfort the hurting. God did not call us to live a comfortable life. We need to go and be Jesus’s hands and feet to all people, everywhere. Our lives as Christians should be summed up by loving God and loving people. Everything else can flow from those two things. Love God. Love people.

I think what abusing Gods grace is are the sins we commit a lot and almost condone or we do condone those sins as not being Gods will but that God will excuse them. But no that isn’t right. Sin is sin. ALL sin is wrong. None of them are excusable in the eyes of God.

We saw them last yr with Chris Tomlin for his Christmas concert in Cincinnati and I AM STILL ADDICTED TO THIS SONG. They are high energy and fun to watch! They were touring for their first time ever. Andrew is the only one who isn’t a bio member of the Cash family. Ed was a named “Producer of the Yr” for 4 yrs in a row and rec’d GMA Dove Award for Worshlp of the Year. I was always told I was going to hell I have always been afraid of God. I thought Jesus was a good man. But since God killed his own Son. What would he do to me ( I was never taught who Jesus was and why he did what he did) I’ve ran from God. My whole life and when I had bad things happen to me I knew God was punishing me In the last few years I’ve been taught through very special people God has brought into my life. That all that has been spoken over me is not true. I now know Jesus died for me because he loved me. Wow it’s has taken time for my mind and heart to understand and day by day. I’m learning. I’m not perfect but God loves me and Jesus loves me and I AM A CHILD of GOD!!! Hallelujah what a wonderful feeling. Where I used to run away from GOD from fear I now spend time with him all day long. When I got the phone call from the VA informing me that I had cancer I needed God. My 2nd thought was, “ God how do we get through this together?” I knew I wasn’t going to survive cancer without God by my side. Not only did I survive cancer but a blood bacteria too. And before that I survived a stroke too. When we go through adversity in life God is doing 1 of 2 things. Teaching us lessons we would never learn anyway else. Or is making us stronger. So many times people pray that God would rescue them out of the adversity they are going through. But that’s not always Gods will to do that.

Update: I need to get a biopsy to see if my cancer has come back or not. Either way I win. If I have cancer and go through chemotherapy again and I beat cancer again then I get to continue to live and be loved by my family and friends who would miss me if I died. If I have cancer and I don’t beat it on Earth I will beat it in heaven because then I will be with God, Jesus Christ and all my family and friends who are already there in heaven.
