I ran a 10k a day for 30 days in these and they were okay! Really comfortable. For someone who just wants to run at the park, they can actually do more than that.

I worked for Decathlon for a while and had several people buy these shoes and proudly tell me they were going to run the marathon in them the following week. Of course they never forgot to mention they hadnt trained at all either. I wonder where these people are today..

That person is me, I ran a marathon in those shoes without having run a training kilometer, it took me 5 hours and I injured my foot, but in general they served me well, then I ran a half marathon in those shoes too, then I decided to get more seriously into running and I bought some adidas adios pro 3, the difference is abysmal but the kalenji do their job

Funnily enough, these were the 1st pair of shoes I took up running with out of lockdown. I think it's there overall weight which makes them ideal for initial training use. I have a neutral pronation so these never gave me any issues in my transition from grass)soft to road running. Have since upped to a pair of Mizumo Wave trainers and though better, the extra £70 difference ain't that great. Could happily run in these again.

I ran in shoes that ranged in the $10 to $40 range for the first 8 years I ran, some of the shoes weren't even dedicated running shoes, they were just trailrunning or gym sneakers. I loved running and ran for fun, not just competition or sport. Just a few months ago I got a pair of Altra running shoes, about $130 and they felt like a dream, and I felt like I could run forever. All this to say: go run! Shoes are rather arbitrary as long as they're athletic in style.

Yes they are good shoes if you are not sure about running and don't want to spend a lot of money on the big brands eg Nike's etc with which you only wear once. That is a waste of Hard earned money!!!!! I speaking as a newbie runner.:]

I got this exact pair at Decathlon in Nairobi. My current 5 K PB (19:26) was done in these. They cost about $28 and I feel like it’s good value for money. They have a more hardy design for trail runs for about $80... these are even better to run in... Decathlon opening in Nairobi is the best thing that happened to me🙂

Ye Duniya not the most ideal for daily running as they ware out quicker and you feel it more on the knees (less cushioning). I am now using Kalenji’s road running Kalensole. Circa $80 and really amazing shoes for daily running

After watching another review, I decided to give a try. I had Asics GT2000 with 400 km ride, so I bought them just to see how good in comparison these shoes can be. I was surprised. The cushioning and response is way better than latest Asics GT2000, they are very lightweight as well. Not much support but I am tiptoe runner so I don't need much support. I would recommend those for faster runners, who prefer to strike with forefoot, otherwise you will can start feeling lack of cushioning after few miles. They are durable as well. I've done 600 km and they feel almost like new. Never used for race but they felt good even at long distance running 30 km @ 4:58 min/km pace. P.S. Decathlon states that these are for beginners, but I would say otherwise - the cheaper the shoe, the more experienced you should be to wear it. They don''t have any arch support and are not as restrictive as other brands, your feet will have a lot of freedom and in case your feet is not strong enough and you still don't have proper technique, you can bet at higher risk of getting injury.

I actually started running in a pair of Kalenji running shoes just over a year ago and loved them. I originally bought two pairs, one of which I still wear to work and the others I ran in. They are very hard wearing and I still wear both pairs, albeit not for running now. Would highly recommend them to anyone who is starting running, doing something like C25K or for your first Parkrun as long as it's on a paved course.

I bought a pair of these to do a Tough Mudder, as if they got destroyed I wouldn't mind too much! They made it through admirably, and have now done two Tough Mudders - not bad for a tenner! What I didn't really like though is that I could feel every individual stone that I stepped on - I'm rather heavy-footed though, so these shoes probably aren't best suited. Still, as a last-ditch back-up to my regulars shoes, they aren't bad really.

Bought a pair of Decathlon Kalenji Kiprun trail shoes as an emergency last minute replacement for a trail marathon and have been so impressed I'm off to Decathlon for their replacements. Prior to this I was Oasics all the way. Top end Decathlon running shoes are still 50 to 75% cheaper than mainstream brands. Awesome grip for the extreme trail events . Their running socks tend to leave a lot to be desired though.

oddly enough i started in a pair of nike free run that were already pretty packed down since I wore them for work every day, but i find my TOMS (like flats) the most comfortable for my morning indoor its odd but a $40 CAD pair of shoes with zero cushion and next to no .5 cm of sole have provided me the best platform to go on even vs my $120 CAD. Less shin pain and definitely more distance and better pace might just be in my head though

I have a pair of Under Armour running shoes that said Run Long on the insole and I used them for the treadmill and a few 5ks...probably got close to 200 or 250 miles on them and they just had the foam on bottom...I watched them wear down and now they look like they just have nothing left to give on the bottom.

I know what you mean about a lack of "springback". I bought a pair of cheap Asics recently (Patriots) and they definitely don't push back when my feet hit the ground and to be honest my knees are feeling it a lot more after just a few wears. My normal shoes are the Asics Gel Pulse which is a price band further up. Also, loving the synchronisation when you're running! 🏃 ☀ ❤️

They can be very cheap in Asia and the quality is probably as good as Asics. I have a pair of Anta shoes for about $20 and they are responsive and as light as a feather, 160g for Euro 43 size.

Got blisters (mind you I’m pretty precious) and after around a month/2 months of running and activity they sadly fell to pieces (the sole fell off on a 10k!). I’ve been wearing these from Decathlon too. At 110kgs I’m not a light runner and tbh (they’re 19 Euro here in Ireland) at the price, comfort and durability I’m finding it hard to spend ten times that on a high end pair of trainers again.. Btw, most of my runs are three weekly 5k-6k runs then Parkrun on the weekend with the occasional 10k charity event.. For me at the price I’d give them 9/10 and only dropping a point for the lack of a decent insole, which I replace on all my trainers anyway

I was amazed at their build. I was unfamiliar with real running shoes, and the kind of comfort they have. I'm now about a 20mile a week runner now instead of just under 3 miles every few days back then.

You should head to your local running shop and have your gait analysed to see what is the best type of shoe to fit your style of running - as you may need support in certain areas depending on how you run. Here’s a video about what gait analysis is and why it’s important for runners which should help kzread.info/dash/bejne/maF23JWKc5iwcco.html

I looked up them up and the only store is in the San Francisco Area. That’s really far from Florida- about 5 hours by plane flight. But still it’s a really cool idea to do this. Maybe we will look for some shoes at Dicks sporting goods and see if they have them there. That’s the biggest sporting good store we have around.

Decade ago, I once trekked and hiked Himalayas with these shoes. Many never heard of this brand. and were taking pics with those shoes. They are super comfortable. These shoes are for general purpose. I couldn't afford any other shoes at that time.

Thanks Anna & Kate. Interesting video. Pretty sure wearing these trainers would cause injury issues for me personally. I’d urge new runners to invest a little bit more in their first pair, but obviously don’t break the bank! I brought £22 NB trainers in the sale from Sports Direct as my first pair and worn these ‘nasties’ from my first ParkRun, all the way to my first marathon! Had so many niggles, which is no surprise. I’ve kept my first pair for sentimental value. Could never throw them away- we’ve been through a lot together. Keep up the good work. I always look forward to the new uploads. Ps. I would give these trainers to my mate, Ginger Al. He’s not a new runner as such, but has drifted away. These beauties would lure him back, I’m sure. 😆🤣😂

This is Decathlon so to compare their product you have to multiply the price 3x or 4x times to match other brands. And actually the best value could be found in their most expensive top products, it’s the same top performance you found in any other brands, but with 1/3 or 1/4 the price. Decathlon is a bless for all these sports. Marketing and hypes should not tax us.

This approach meant i bounced around different types of expensive shoes before settling with my current trail shoes. Decathlon running shoes are best for beginners, on tight budget and doesnt give a hoot if it doesnt look like a million dollars worth. Among my 20 pairs in cupboard right now, 14 pairs are bought from decathlon, 2 pairs from New Balance, 1 pair from adidas (Beckham ultraboost), 1 pair from puma (suede), 1 pair from Caterpillar and last pair from timberland. Decathlon store are still my fave place to visit for an affordable everyday use street wear.

There are many cheap running shoes that are suburb , I'm 54 and have covered over 2000 miles in less than one year , currently running 60 to 70 miles a week ( I run every day ) . I must say the puma's I own have well over 300 miles on them and still going strong ( they are puma running system) . Before you spend a fortune on shoes because a self ordained shoe guru says you need them , try shoes on in the shop , they must fit well not to loose or tight and also have some suspension to them , take a marble or similar with you and try seeing if the shoe will soak up this underfoot anomaly up. Keep running everyone, we're a special breed 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🤗
