Good... I'm NOT going completely insane! When you got to the George Washington bath tub at the start I thought that it was de ja vu... then when you were flicking through those Life magazines I thought I was going INSANE! Incredibly so fortunate to relive these memories with the family.Just by listening to them speaking so highly of the person he was, to whom they have become speaks volume of who he was to them and their upbringing definitely shows in the them al daughters and grandchildren. He will be sadly missed and never forgotten. You can tell that all of his collection is a memory of a time a place a moment that will live forever in those who shared the journey with him. Awesome video i remember when i was young got a 57 Topps Ernie Banks for $1.00 but i was grounded from collecting and this guy in Wonder Lake Illinois had it all Babe Jackie Lou and Mantles for cheap...I still kick myself in the ass till this day that was 1988 now it is 2024

Crazy rewatching this video because after watching the 1st one I stopped at Berkeley Springs with my family on a family road trip and had such a great time. It’s a little gem up in WV on our way to Ohio! Haha so that’s for giving some attention to that town and it’s fun to explore. This is one of the best episodes for sure, true collector and you honored his life and family very well! Thanks again y’all!

I don't think I could ever part ways with my cards.. I was a 90s kid so most is junk wax but I loved it so much. I don't really have anything special but collecting them reminds me of where I was for some of my cards. Like a lot of people I started back in the past 3 years and sold my first card 1 year ago and it was hard to do even though it was a newer card. What a great collection and a great gift to give his family.

I'll be honest. Just sitting in that room with the wall paneling, vintage pictures, signs, tv, furniture etc. just makes it feel like your hanging out with John himself. So much nostalgia.

That's the plan!

He said if we consign, "we'll sell the bigger cards to dealers". Why would they sell to dealers, they'll pay the bare minimum. You would get more from collectors on ebay. What a weird comment to make.

I’d love the excitement of seeing something like this for the first time and the feeling you get before diving in. So awesome to have that experience. Then I’m sure the over stimulation kicks in 🤣 Then reality sets in for you to realize you are never going through all of that LOL

Would love to see grading results on the stuff you guys submit. Would be a nice bow to top things off. ❤❤

Should start a streaming service on whatnot and basically 24/7 stream like KK sportscards does. Think that would be great for you guys cause definitely have the inventory to do non stop $1 start auctions and majority of the time I've noticed they sell close to comps. Keep the big big cards but all those "bulk" still worth more that $1 is the best route cause will move super quick 1k plus cards a day sold.

Ty I have a lot of respect for what you’re doing for the hobby but you can really tell that you have been fed from a silver spoon your whole life .

I keep my collection to Chicago Cubs only. One of the first purchases I made was a 19th century cabinet card/photo of a baseball team having a picnic after a game, a really cool piece that was not Cubs related. After buying that I said this is a rabbit hole I cant afford to go down and have kept it Cubs from then on. This guy collected pre Ebay, Kudos to him for some amazing finds.

To say that you have to look at all cards as PSA 1 is utterly ridiculous, some of those higher end cards, just by merely seeing them you can tell they're higher grades. The Mantle "dads cookies", just because it's stapled, it doesn't automatically make it a PSA 1, that's just nonsense!

Actually it does and did. There were surfaces issues. Can’t see that on video. And most staple or holes in cards drastically reduce the grade.

I remember Mike saying his favorite player ever was Lou Gehrig. How the hell can your favorite player be someone you never even saw play. That’s like saying you miss a relative who died before you were born, like you wish you got to meet them and stuff like that but you literally can’t actually miss them, you never even met them

Id be curious as to what his response is, but what does watching your favorite player play have anything to do with them being a favorite? The story of baseball cant be told without Lou Gehrig (dont even have to crack a book, you can watch a movie) Do you acknowledge that you have relatives that passed before you were born, or do they not exist if you never met them? (Im guessing if you had a relative you never met might have an amazing story)

If you're going to post a comment like this, at least have the courage to explain why you feel that way. If they are willing to consign the collection, I dont see how that is taking advantage of anybody. It really does take a lot of time to sleeve up and send those submissions. We are talking about thousands of cards. The owner already knows beforehand the value of some of the collection, so how are they taking advantage of them?? If a buyer were looking to flip this collection quickly they might try to low ball, but if you watch other CC videos you will quickly learn these guys do it right.
