Żabka is "the last resort" kind of store, it's expensive. If you like Poland, at some point you're gonna have to decide - Biedronka or Lidl 😂😂 BTW, the waiter didn't make it easy for you - she used a lot of diminutives, making words sound "sweet". It's normal for us, but it's surely difficult to get for people learning. You did great.

In my house, we eat the boiled ones and fried ones with a fork and the baked ones with our hands BUT it's not a rule, sometimes you take the boiled ones out of water, put them on a plate, then grab one in your hands, dip it in the melted lard with onions straight in the frying pan and put it whole in your mouth (while still hot:)) - and nobody minds it:)

I am very impressed with your Polish, Rob! I love fried pierogi more than boiled, doesn't matter if I am eating them with a sauce or in / with a soup- I want them crispy (even if they aren't after bathing them in soup, heh). EDIT: Nah, you aren't rude by eating those big pierogi with your hands. It is like eating a pizza. BUT ofc it would be a different story if it was a "high class" restaurant.

Pizza and regional Kashubian cuisine are a have to eat in Gdańsk. Pizzeria OSTRO is among the 50 best pizzerias in Europe. This applies to Neapolitan-style pizza. This is the Cinquanta Top Pizza Europa ranking. There are no Italian pizzerias here because they have a separate ranking. This year, the three best pizzerias in Europe are: „Sartoria Panatieri” Barcelona, „Bæst” Copenhagen, „50 Kalò” London. There are two other Polish pizzerias on this list: „Ciao a Tutti” Warsaw, „Zielona Górka” Pabianice(around Łódź). Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit was born on 24 May 1686 in Gdańsk. That's why you found the Fahrenheit Meteorological Column.
