Wow, those two upper rooms are stunning, and I love that one is more Classical and the other more Gothic. You also captured the architectural features on camera so beautifully, I feel like I've been there. Definitely one of the loveliest placed you've shown us.

Goodness! What an absolutely stunning building. I can't even imagine how it feels to stay there. The kitchen was my favourite room I think but that sitting room really is beautiful. I loved the look of the Jane Austen game too, and that you took your little Christmas tree and pyramid with you to make it extra cosy. Thank you.

I love the excellent exposed wooden beams in the kitchen/dining room, The beautiful old wooden table is so cozy. When I first saw the last two rooms my immediate reaction was, OMG it looks very Jane Austin! Your card game was a very well-chosen one! Miss Austin would approve. 🥰

Wie schön, dass es euch gefällt! Ja, es gibt Nachtspeicherheizungen (das ist in diesem historischen Gebäude am Besten, weil alles andere das Gebäude zerstören könnte). Im Wohnzimmer waren die Heizkörper auf 30 Grad eingestellt aber durch die enorm hohe Decke hat man es nicht gemerkt. Es war aber immer angenehm und einfach nur schön. Viele liebe Grüße

I don't think I would like those stairs if I needed to visit the bathroom in the middle of the night, but what a stunning place and location.

Oh loves...it certainly was not a folly to stay in this folly. How magnificent. Formal, cozy, a true adventure. You not only needed tea in the sitting room but Joerg needed a pipe!! We do.have to get back to England...there is so very, very much to enjoy.

That opening, with the way Joerg did the filming of you looking out the window, brilliant 👏 excellent! Oh my gosh, that sitting room, speechless! It does look like Wedgwood! The bedroom is gorgeous, then you said " roof terrace "! A tower fit for Princess Kirsten and Prince Joerg! I am very much a fan of architecture so this was a delightful treat!

You're not kidding when you say dream sitting room! I honestly would think I died and went to heaven with that gorgeous molding. I'm so glad the National Trust preserves these properties, and they are available for getaways. I appreciate the work they do, and I wonder how many places would have been lost or in poor condition without them. The Folly is like your own personal faery castle. Bringing your Christmas decorations was a nice touch, it added a nice bit of personalization!

So glad you like it! This is owned by the Landmark Trust which is a different organisation than the NT. The Landmark Trust focusses on restoring buildings and makes them available for holidays but the NT is a membership organisation for heritage conservation and places you can visit. The do have holiday accommodation as well.

I've always wanted to live in a tower high above the Rhine, or some such river. You chose a beautiful one to covet. It is all romance and charm.

You would love Beckfords tower in Bath ( another Landmark property). The accommodation is ground floor but you have access to the viewing tower. There's also a first floor museum.
