I have always wanted to see some eccentric billionaire that all the sudden decides that he wants an entire mansion made from mostly Legos, but if it was me I would insist on participating in the construction process myself. And no glue, all free standing Legos except where sealant is necessary which would be mostly in the outside or plumbing areas.

This is how the cars move on their own. Beneath these paths are cables that emit a low-level radio wave specific to each vehicle - the vehicle picks up this signal, and uses it to steer. When the vehicle reaches one of the charging points dotted around it's track, it stops. One of the computers registers this, and a timer is started. When the timer reaches zero, the power to the charger is cut, and this signals the vehicle to continue along it's path. Outside park opening hours, the vehicles stop on the charging points and recharge fully overnight.

Hi Tim. I must admit I wasn't sure I would enjoy this video as Lego is not usually my thing but I'm glad I did see it because it was really a lot of fun to watch. The presentation / playful vibe made it appealing for adults. Involving Gaby in the room tour really worked well. Great teamwork! and Casper having so much fun was a real highlight! Wish we had something like this when I was a kid in the 70's. Look forward to your stay in the little Lego house next year!

I think the little safe was meant to be unlocked with the little activity piece of paper you guys got on the table, when you crack the code with clues around the room it opens the safe, remember the same thing when staying at chessington and getting a couple of themed goodies! Over the Christmas period I have introduced my 77 year old Mum to your channel. We have watched a lot of your videos, centre parcs, the grand hotel Llandudno, Prestatyn Pontins, Alton Towers, the Las Vegas hotels, Beverly Hills hotel, glass igloo, most northern hotel, etc, etc, of all the videos we have watched she said she liked this one the most. We went to legoland when I was about 12 (28 years ago) and they didn’t have a hotel then, and now she is saying at 77 years old that she wants to go back and stay there 😂

I took my girlfriend there for the first time just after covid and we stayed in a Knights and Dragons room. Was really nice in the hotel, had a short go in the pool but that was more for young kids. The park itself was quiet so no long queues, the stay was perfect with weather great and just enough time to enjoy all the rides. Eating in the restaurants was nice with a breakfast included in the price. We got a really good deal, great video by the way as it brings back loads of good memories. 👍

Hi Tim. Found this about how the cars move: From an unofficial Legoland Windsor fan site 'Completely LEGOLAND Windsor'. Road Vehicles The cars, lorries and buses all appear to move and steer on their own, never leaving their set paths, yet not using any rails. How on Earth do they manage that? Beneath these paths are cables that emit a low-level radio wave specific to each vehicle - the vehicle picks up this signal, and uses it to steer. When the vehicle reaches one of the charging points dotted around it's track, it stops. One of the computers registers this, and a timer is started. When the timer reaches zero, the power to the charger is cut, and this signals the vehicle to continue along it's path. Outside park opening hours, the vehicles stop on the charging points and recharge fully overnight. Trains The trains work in a similar fashion to the road vehicles, but follow tracks instead of radio signals. When a train approaches a station, the train passes over 'slow down bars', which tell the onboard microprocessor to slow the motor. When it reaches a charging point, one of which is located at each station, a signal is sent to the control room, at which point a timer is started both in the control centre and in the train's microprocessor. Unlike the road vehicles, which can only go forward at a certain speed, the trains can go forwards, backwards, and vary their speed. Boats The boats are attached to rubber loops, which can clearly be seen under the water. These are driven by motors controlled by the computers in the control centre. A piece of metal on the hull of the boat allow sensors along the boat's track to detect the boat, and let the computer know where the boat is. The computer then uses this information to initiate various sequences, such as raising bridges, or opening and closing locks and powering water pumps.

Great video. Many years ago i went to the original Legoland in Denmark which (from memory) had more of the quieter aspects and less of the funfair-type rides etc, at least back then. With a toddler, having him pan for gold for more fun than going on a ride. Somewhere I still have his Legoland driving licence, complete with photo. The Danish one was very international, and the driving school had kids of all sorts, each given a lego flag to put on their car, so the "traffic policeman" could shout at time in an appropriate language. They even had Japanese flags.

Me and my husband stayed here a few years ago as my husband is a big Lego fan. We stayed in a ninjago room. The safe in the room has a free Lego toy inside, when you solve the puzzle on the activity sheet it gives you the code for the safe. We didn’t eat dinner in the restaurant as had heard bad things about it, we actually ordered pizza to be delivered to the hotel! We went during term time so the queues for the rides were shorter and went on most of them. Shame the Viking ride is still closed as was when we went. The scariest ride in the park was surprisingly the friends horse ride.

Was never into Lego as a kid, but when I got into my late 20's, I bought a few sets. They were sort of a step up from doing just a jigsaw puzzle. I bought a Limited Edition Batmobile from the very first movie for $20 from K-mart.. 35 years later, that Lego is now worth over $600! Had I known they had value, I would have started collecting years ago! Still have it assembled in the box. Anyway, that place looks fun, fun, fun. When my boys were a little younger, we were pass holders at legoland and probably went about 4 or 5 times a year - we loved it. One of its downsides is that the queues on both the app and outside the ride near no relevance to the actual ride time! I think that the peak age for kids to go is about 3-10 - take Casper back in a couple of years and he’ll love it. The “dark@ rides at legoland are probably the best - the submarines are very clever and you see lots of fish, the haunted house spins around you, Ninjago ride is a clever 3d one. But, my favourite ride (I went last month with my nephew and niece) is the Flight of the Sky Lion - that’s absolutely incredible! Thank you for taking us into the hotel - with the exception of the food, it looks great!

What a coincidence being able to see both Hotels in same week. I struggle in standard Hotel bathroom as I need a wheelchair accessible room. I happened on Jo's Wheel Life who stayed in Castle Hotel this week so on there you get to see size and facilities in bathroom and roof hoist which is a essential for some adults and children it might be something useful if you need this level or you know someone with child or adult who does. I flinch at memories of standing on my daughters lego but now, at 32 she is still obsessed with lego so thanks for a great idea for sending daughter and son in law on a holiday.

The room review was funny, you both were like wee kids, Gaby was like a kid in the candy shop in the bunk beds. But 44, no way man.

I've been to Legoland in winter park fl. When my son was 8. It was just opened back then and I loved it. I'm sure it's alot different now. Back then there wasn't a hotel yet but it was announced they were going to build one. Luv seeing your vlog of Legoland in the UK.

Love Legoland, so good for the kids. Last time we went it started raining when we got there and it bucketed down all day! They gave us all plastic raincoats though which was great. We didn't let the rain bother us!

We have been here 3 times but stayed in windsor as the legoland hotel was very exspensive in july..There is a bus which runs from windsor to the gates of the park frequently as we dont drive so was really handy and Windsor is beautiful we where 2 minutes away from the castle

I've never had the slightest interest in Lego, but I really enjoyed this. I love the theming, and the child's voice in the lift (if I heard it right) was an original and imaginative touch. I'd totally agree with the comments about the food.

The castle hotel rooms are definitely more fun! They are more expensive, but in my opinion worth it. And the quiz gives you a code to open the safe in the room!

Hi Tim - great video! I believe that the fire truck and the other vehicles in mini land are operated using batteries. The batteries would be attached to the vehicles themselves, and then underneath the road surface. I saw the same technique used in a mini diorama youtube video.

Excellent Vlog Definitely be taking our grandchildren there. Am from Liverpool and always wanted to go but cause of the distance never got to go. Our daughter lives in Southend on sea so gives us a chance to go. The cars move with Magnets, it’s a track under the floor and they move cause of the magnets 🧲 attached to the track and cars. Keep up the great work 👍👍👍
