Only came with $20 in their pocket and wanted to get 2 giant boxes, on top of sneaking into the unopen pallets. Even after you told them that wasn't for sale, the guy continues to go through it. Once that lady brought over that giant box and started stuffing (aka hiding) things into the bottom of it, I could smell what was coming. Good grief, that couple bothered me, they were so obvious about their scheme. You were very gracious though.

My grandfather who was an antique dealer once told me this thought about buyers. They can be compared to three different animals, crows, lambs and goats. The crow will steal or try to. The lamb will be happy and pay your asking price and the goat with haggle with you and get your goat. It's just part of reselling.

So when I do my garage sale this year, I think I'm going to make a "no haggle" zone, because the prices will be so low that any attempt to low ball me further will be interpreted as an insult, then I will have an area dedicated to smashing said object they attempt to talk from 1 dollar to .75 cents will be beaten savagely with my sledgehammer in plain sight of everyone present and then left as a warning to the others.

Gotta put some signs up on the unopened pallets saying "Do Not Open" or something! The right thing to do was for them to put those things back- which I know you were very nice about it but its not right some folks take advantage and paid less than what you asked for, too.

Probably the largest, most consistent, largest profit, and easiest income maker I have is reselling cookware like that couple lowballed you on. I bet they knew exactly what they had and buried it into a lot with bunches of low cost items. Sure she would put those couple of dollars of baskets back. Key to my income are those “Craft” brands, Lustre Craft, Kitchen Craft, Americraft, among those Saladmaster, All Clad, etc. $30-100 each is normal, $200 or much more each isn’t uncommon. Larger sizes usually better, but not always. Sold a tiny butter pot last year in that higher priced range. Good you cleared yourself of items if they were holding you back or stressing you. Just adding knowledge if $$$ is of interest 🙃

I noticed that as well. They already mapped out a plan to lowball, come back with enough cash to undersell the lowball and Josh was nice enough or didn't wanna deal with their bullshit. Instead of asking are you gonna be here next week so we can come give you the $ we owe you, she seemed excited that there was a chance they could come back and lowball again.

Every yard or garage sale video I've ever watched elicits a long line of comments opining that the yard seller was selling stuff too cheap and whining about the good deals the buyers got at the sellers' expense. Then, sprinkled in among those comments, are the people who go on about how they could have sold that one thing or another for big bucks and how they would never be so dumb as to let it go for what it brought at the yard sale. These people will never be convinced that you're not likely to get eBay prices at a yard sale, and that similarly, you're not likely to get rid of a garage full of stuff in a weekend on eBay. I sell random stuff on eBay, and anything I can't sell or don't want to deal with, I donate. I haven't done a garage sale in decades, and I don't ever want to do one again.

@@DragonLore520 So true! That's why I hated having garage sales. They drive up in expensive cars and they only have a couple of bucks on them. I would rather give it for free to a homeless shelter or even the people on the streets who obviously need it more.

Thank you once again! Because of you and your wife, my wife and I are going to resell items that we will buy from flea markets, garage sales, goodwill, yard sales, estate sales BUT NOT PALLETS. Thank you for this video and the total transparency about everything. I learned nothing from Mike and Frank and everything from you. I will continue to learn from now until the spring when we begin buying. We are retired so I have the luxury to get all my ducks in order.

When I was a young fool pon my first few months in the military my wife and I got talked into buying a Kirby Vaccum. That thing even had an adapter that is supposed to be a massager. My ex-wife and I barely even use the think as we a cheap vacuum that was much easier to use. I believe we paid about $2,000 for that.
