Yeh boi that's a Water Rat, they're native do gooders and dont deserve the hate. Was a campaign to have them called by there traditional name, Rakali, he's more like an Australian otter.

Yeah man. Rakali seem to be getting more common. We saw them in Jindabyne a few months ago. Clever buggers know how to butcher cane toads for the edible bits.
That is a native water rat and yes they are protected here in Australia. If you put crayfish pots down and you get one of those in there they will drown and if the ranger sees it you are up for a Vincent fine.
Your GQ is a weapon, despite the locker issues, you should be proud !!
Helpful tip: don't strike the flint with the striker.. pull the flint away from the striker.. you essentially put it out when you are striking forward. If that makes sense

Sorry to hear about your locker issues. Cannot for the life of me see when 2xLockers are more important than while towing a trailer, and they failed you. 😱 The wiring of e-lockers or the hoses of air lockers is an issue I have. This is why I got automatic mechanical lockers front & rear from Kaiser for my Jimny. Yes, they have a learning curve when driving on tarmac but they will never fail me when off-road. I hope you get your lockers fixed. Well shot video and choice of music. Very enjoyable.
Awesome part of NSW, well done getting the trailer through..!! Love Zeph’s contributions to the fire and playing with Demi on the chair, classic, such a fun age! Definitely makes me want to get back out to the Turon, thanks for sharing!
Love the episodes with the bonus off watching the little man learning the bush👍
Nice one Tyler and Demi! Your so right, it is much better mid week when No one is there. It was great to meet your Dad, Demi, Zeph, Shad and yourself at the show! 👍
I love Turon National Park. Great variety of terrain and places to camp with a river view. Thanks for taking us along. 👍

Nice one mate. Great vid.
Definitely gonna check that area out.
We really enjoyed your last vid with the hiking around lithgow, looking forward to this one we have a new baby as well.
I love that area - Turon NP, Sunny & Dark Corner, and Turon Gates. It looked like another great trip. You must have gotten plenty of workout getting us all that exterior shots. Editing just keeps getting better and better. Great work getting the Opus trailer out of there unscathed. 👍

Beautiful spot up ontop of the ridge. I went up via Bicentennial Trail years ago in my X-Trail but wasn't gonna tackle Baal Bone in something that small
Great video. Good advertisement for Opus campers, not to many owners would take them on those type of tracks.
That looked like a great trip!!

With the flint, scrap slowly a small amount of flit of it onto the tinder, the when you strike the flit the spark will lignite the pile of flit and the tinder.
Awesome video
Very good episode. I really like your camping trips.

Quality 🤙🏻🏴
Watching you guys going through the hills remind me when I was younger like 10 years old my dad used to take us on mystery trips because he used to do fossicking. Yep Mum and Dad and 4 kids in the back of a Toyota HiAce van. The places we conquered you could do back then same place today is ripped up by idiots with high pressure tyres that's right the 40 psi Club. But what you do and your baby is doing bringing back a lot of good memories. Thank you

Great memories you are making!
"Jackass Hill" or "Oh Shit Hill" as it was known back in the early 80's. Back then it was just a super steep smooth surfaced slightly eroded undulating hill, I used it frequently to access the Turon area just cause I could, often recovering motor bikes that had issues. Used to amaze the motorbike riders I'd been out to recover how easily the Hilux scampered up it. The hard bit was getting around the bend out of the creek carrying enough momentum to get up the initial steep bit you where stuck on, (no rock step back then). The "Oh Shit, you won't get up there" was quickly dealt with. By 2011 you'd hardly recognise it to be the same ascent/descent. Last vehicle I took up it was a locked front & rear 76 Cruiser in 2011, last time I'd ever do that, twas scary shit in a 76. Took a chap out in his unlocked GQ in 2012, I politely declined to put myself thru the Toyota 70 series hype, pieces of shit they are, but old mate in his GQ banged & clattered his way up, turned round and bounced & clattered his way down again. Whilst it was unlocked it just amazed us where it would go. He sold it to another chap I travelled with, he wheeled it just as well as old mate did, so it was the truck that was super capable, far more capable than a locked 76. Only thing worse, an unlocked 76. Thats a total shit box.💩 Go the Patrol!!!. What's more amazing than the Patrol? You pair, you always amaze me how you delve into waters that have flowed thru snow & ice. Bugga that, my nuts would clamber up so high they'd choke me, do you zip tie them to your shorts first, hahaha 😂.
Time for some ARB airlockers 😉

That Nissan sounds amazing 💪🏻
Another great episode team Tyler. Maybe look at changing out the rear springs on the car to a higher load rate, very low in the back. You’re probably already onto that mod anyway. Great channel and so good to see the family enjoying the outdoors.

Great camping trip guys, defo head there with the trailer. Love the veggie cook up too at the end, being a pescatarian four-wheel-drive nut there's not many of us around. I love Harry and fire 2 fork but I do get sick of him pulling his pork all the time LOL . can't wait for the next one. cheers Jamie

Graced by a bush rat. Lucky. Im hoping to make a similar trip next year. In a GQ with the superior TB42.
yep native water rat (rakali) very cool
I love your channel how you show time with your family but I'd love to see more family escapes with more to do then just wheeling I'll still watch tho 👌

Great clip mate and bloody God’s country !!! Our favourite camp spot Turon, just stunning !. 👍 And yeah they’re native water rats, plenty of them around that area. They won’t harm you, more chewing through wiring in your car if you leave it there too long 🤣👍 that’s what might of gnawed on your locker wiring 🤣🤣

Which do you like best or prefer, OP4 or OP2?
Great video guys! How does the little fella go with all the driving? I’ve got a little one born at the same time as Zeph and longer drives are a struggle for us.

Dont stuff around with coils etc. Just get some airbag man bags and just pump em up when ya towing the camper. I wish i didnt waste my money on 3 sets of coils and just went straight for airbags. Can do an install video then also!

I got some Dobbo springs on the back of my GU and a set of airbag man. The car and trailer sits perfectly when towing. I really didn't need the airbags. ate good if I want to level up when cooking up out the back of the GU.
that was a native water rat
definitely a water rat common in alot of fresh and salt waterways

White tailed rat. Native. Did'nt know they were found this far south. Thought they were more nth Q.
Why would someone buy a 4WD, spend a fortune on it so they can experience and enjoy the most remote locations and then they hook up a 2-tonne trailer? It's insanity!
Tyler you need to turn back to the Nav days because now you gone to builds witch not the avenger people can afford
@Oh_Sully23
10 ай бұрын
He worked out his GQ was around $75k. The canopy on the Nav was $35k by itself, before the Nav and it’s mods, so I don’t see how a brand new modded dual cab with a $30k canopy is more affordable.
Yep it's a water rat
🛠️💪🏕️
