@@GalacticHorrors but the dictionaries disagree with you. Could you imagine moving from America down to Mexico and calling them aliens? That's what you are doing with this story. You put humans on somebody else's planet and those humans are calling those native creatures aliens on their planet. By the way I don't suggest going to someone else's country and calling them aliens, it won't be accepted.

It's more like common nomenclature. When a scifi geek calls a thing an alien, it typically means life from outside the planet Earth.

Maybe we are not meant to colonize other planets and change their ecology...
