There are certain bikes out there that separate the men from the boys, and Chris Fillmore's factory KTM 450 SMR supermoto weapon is certainly one of them. This is one of the finest supermoto race bikes anywhere in the world and served as the basis for Chris' record-breaking Pikes Peak International Hill Climb run of 2019.
Chris was gracious enough to let us take it for a few hot laps of the Apex Kart track in Perris, California, and we sat down with him to discuss this ultra-important machine to both himself and KTM North America.

Great stuff guys! We need a comparison with my FS450 R when I got the engine running again!
Thanks lads, wonderful to see and hear, what are the differences between the FS40sm, the new KTM 450smr and this bike? race dept. built engine...still a 450cc I’m assuming? And then stock MX length front...and rear? Anyway, look forward to hearing as much as you can say. Mitch put a pipe and QS on my ‘18 fs450 for AHRMA ‘18 w/ some pretty good results...since you guys weren’t there ;-)
Super sick bike wanted a supermotard as my first bike but when making longer trips wont be so great so went with a ducati hypermotard 1100s
What quickshifter is on this? Loved watching you both race in Tucson!

Did you know Chris tied for the championship in the 2020 AMA supermoto Championship? But your right, he should be racing with the "Real guys"

I'm a 55 year old, ex intermediate off-road rider/racer. In general, how would I set up my KTM XC-F suspension for SM? Also, any recommendations on a suspension house/tuner?

You must get a revalve and respring, that thing will be a couch on slicks!
