It’s truly amazing the lengths to are willing to go to fully restore this car. Most other KZreadrs would be fine with the “10 footer” look for the camera. The extent and investment made to restore this really puts the LEGIT in LSC. Amazing work Alex!
This was such a satisfying restoration. Your love for this car is so apparent. So many KZreadrs buy their “dream car”, barely fix it enough to get it drivable and then immediately sell it. This was so much more. A true journey with someone who genuinely loves the car they are working on and want to keep forever ❤
This is probably better than when it left the factory. Insane work!

G'day Alex, I'm absolutely shocked at the difference! I would've never expected the Buick GN to look as beautiful, especially the exterior. Holy shitters mate, it looks perfect. It honestly looks like the car was repainted. What an amazing job by Chicago Auto Pros! Cheers from Western Australia 🇦🇺 👍.
I think this just became my most favorite grand national on earth. Never ever ever get rid of this car. It's a piece of history
The irony is, because of Alex I sent my car for some PPF to the guys at Chicago Auto Pros and while there Alex shows up to shoot his video and my car ends up in the background. 😁

Man the GN looks awesome...what a difference in the paint appearance! Those seat covers were highly desirable BTW...they do an excellent job protecting the seats. Kirban's used to sell them many years ago and they are super hard to find now.

Holeee crap what a beautiful car. That is also my favorite car j remember seeing this carin car and driver and drooling but I'll never get to drive one never mind own one.
The exterior change is INCREDIBLE!!!
Love the fact that having the car you wanted for so long brings you much joy, that's what it should be about!
Alex, the way you talked about how your dream car doesn't need to be something crazy really hit me. I have a 1987 Chevy R10 that's my forever project/daily right now. My dad bought it new and my grandpa had it for well over a decade. It's been mine since my freshman year of college (7 years ago) and it's been my daily for over a year. I know it's not special, the paint is shit, and it'll never be worth much, but it's really cool to have my fire for it constantly reignited by you. Thank you for the effort you put in your videos. It gives me the drive to continue

Very cool car, i remember looking at them brand new on the dealer lot. I did not buy one. Young family with small kids, it was a dream car at the time. Now a bunch of people can re-live that dream again with this video. Thanks.
My dream cars are: 1.) To get back the 76 Cougar my stepdad bought for us to fix up to be my first car. Had to sell it to pay rent when times got tough when I was 14. 2.) A 55 Thunderbird in Pearl White. Absolutely gorgeous car, and so fun to drive. A good friend of mine's dad has one and I have wanted one since I was a little kid.
Nice job Alex, Jason and crew. The GN looks awesome. You guys rock. Enjoy the weekend!
I can’t get over how good that has come out looking! Insane! Great job 👏
Looks better than brand new now. They did such a great job detailing it
46:51 exactly. It's how the car makes you feel. A lot of people think that you need to be in the income bracket to afford a Laborghini to enjoy cars but there are tons of good buys out there that one can enjoy forever.
The GN looks amazing!!! Alex your attention to detail is amazing, adjusting the body lines really makes a difference!!!! Thank you so much for preserving a piece of automotive history!!!!!
This is why I want to open a detail shop. I just need to find people who want to do great work.
Words CAN'T actually convey the feeling when I saw this car! The finished result is only abel to be judged and it's judged in 90s tears my friend. I actually wiped tears when you pulled it out. Thank you so much Alex!
When you're done and the finish is cured, go back and apply some 3M 'door edge guard' (clear plastic stick-on that is usually wrapped over the edge of the door) to the valley underneath the door handle. That will guard against scratches. Similarly, use the same product on the bottom edge of the door, so you don't scrape curbs, etc.
Mad respect for such close attention to detail. Congrats on the GN coming together so perfectly!
I was a Knight Rider fan as a kid so the 82 Trans Am was probably my dream car. I never owned one but did eventually get an 02 WS6. If i ever buy a car to restomod it would probably be ... don't laugh guys...a 1995-96 2 door Pontiac Grand Prix. I owned a green one in the late 90s. It was sharp but underpowered. Would love to have a legit street car worthy version of it. Oh and it was great to see that I'm not the only one who uses the ego blower to dry cars. 🙂
The GN came out amazing! I truly wish I could see it in person but it looks great! Everyone involved did such an excellent job with it! Great work guys!
Alex, the smile on your face shows how excited you are about this build. What a genuine guy you are and I'm so glad your dreams are coming true. You deserve it! I remember the smell of those cars, like most 80s cars. It's amazing. LSC is absolutely my fav channel and even better when we can wake up on Saturday mornings to car vids.
I have to commend you on your passion for the car. The work you have done is really tastefully executed. The paint detail and PPF is just incredible. Big thumbs up 👍🏻🫵🏻👊🏻
Beautiful car and love the mechanical and restoration work you've done to the Regal!! Even the window tint was tastefully done. Not too dark all around but comfortable. Great car!!!
Those 80’s Buicks and Monte Carlos are underrated classics.
The Grand National is the epitome of the classy good-looking body styles that Buick would come up with there aren't too many cars you could even put next to it when it comes to looks and class
Hey Alex, I'm so happy for you that you got your dream car. And it cleaned up so well! Enjoy it as it's well deserved. Cheers!
I love how the car turned out, Alex! This brings me back to my childhood as well. I remember, cruising down Harlem Avenue back in the day, and you would see these cars cruising. From a crawl, they would punch it, and they would just smoke the tires down the street.
My absolute dream car is 69/70 Daytona/Superbird!! When I was 10 years old, I was growing up in Central Florida, near the Daytona International Speedway. At a car show during Speedweek, there was a Toro Red Dodge Daytona. It was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen!! Now this being WAY before the internet, research was done at the LIBRARY of all places! I read as much as I could find about this car, NASCAR, and it kicked off my love for cars! My family and I were around DIS all the time. My dad raced motorcycles there, my mom worked for Channel 6 (out of Orlando) a CBS station, and we were always around cars/motorcycles. I didn't see another Daytona in person until I was almost 30! It was at a tire shop I used to work at. It was Petty Blue and it was a clone but it was still beautiful as ever!!
God it looks so perfect! Sounds great now too! What a gem. Amazing work. Thanks for sharing the ride. Certainly a joy to watch being restored.
I used to be a big fan of a 300ZX Twin Turbo - never had one and probably never will if the used car market stays like it is!

WOW!!! IMPRESSIVE!! My current dream car I bought is... 2004 dodge ram 2500 4x4 w/24v cummins diesel. I always washed a diesel, (only 4k worth 10k as is) Had front end damage and I had the frame fixed got most the body parts and it's coming together SLOWLY BUT SURLY as I can afford the time and money!!
Congrats Alex I'm jealous. What an amazing car. I've always loved the GN. You are so fortunate to own this gem. This video was incredibly satisfying. What a transformation.
I’m glad Vinny from Choppers was able to stop by the shop today and clean the car. I love the GN, it keeps getting better. Great episode!
congrats on accomplishing a dream...my older brother idolized this car back in the late eighties/90s, he came so close to pulling the trigger on a GNX back in 92. Cherish and enjoy this awesome piece of American technology and speed - and the burly regal. I keep telling him to get a T-Type now since their prob a little more attainable now.
I totally agree!!! Buffing and polishing your own car is extremely satisfying!! I do all of my cars and boat myself and I love it!!!
Checking in for my Saturday fix of LSC!

Thanks John! Appreciate the love!
This has been a hell of a build/resto, man. CAP putting the finishing touches on it turned this thing into a museum car 🤤 I’d say this is the perfect car to have a nice set of black leather driving gloves for, and to toss on the steering wheel, to have so you can keep everything minty and perfect and clean, and also just because it’s the type of classic where they aren’t out of place haha Enjoy the hell out of it man, I’m so happy for you 🙌🏼 as always, stay awesome Alex
Man its awsome to see this car looking all done up. Man when we finish building my dads college car, his 1969 convertible, RS Swapped that was a stolen car and was recovered its gonna be awsome. Ive never seen the car before when my dad used to daily it but that car went through everything, snow, rain hot sunny days to fade the paint away. That car was basically with him for almost his whole life, and many more years to go on with him! This car will get the most secure tech to prevent it from getting stolen again. Back in the 80s the most you could do to prevent your car was a kill switch. My dad went a step further. He installed a removable steering wheel, removable radio, kill switch and alarm system. I can't wait for this car to be finally done.
Alex us men who work on our cars know exactly how you feel and the excitement is shared. Was smiling with you.
I also own a ‘86 Grand National and live in IL. It’s hard finding a mechanic that’s willing to work on these and has the knowledge to do so. Any suggestions?
The GN was and still is my dream car too. I truly get the joy you were experiencing. CAP did an amazing job. I hope to see it and you at Woodward!
I understand your joy, Alex, as this is one of my dream cars. Excited and proud for you. Great work.

From a post on Reddit, so this is totally unconfirmed, but take from it what you will: Peter stole and cloned an old phone of Alex's and gained access to his personal and business Google accounts including the Legit Street Car KZread account. With his username and password he could also get into Alex's Gmail, Google photos, text messages, contacts and much more. He was caught red handed logged in as Alex! Peter was logging in as Alex on KZread so he could monitor his KZread income, all analytics and this level of access gave him the ability to delete the entire channel. Alex's shop isn't open to the public and no one outside of employees are allowed. When Alex was out of town Peter had people bring their cars into the shop so they could work on their cars with Peter using all of Alex's tools. This was a huge insurance liability for Alex. There's a lot more to the story, such as Peter driving Alex's cars on a suspended license but I won’t get into all those details right now.

Always like the GN. But watched this from the beginning and I do love this. That paint correction is amazing, never seen so much perfection. Probably the best GN around.
wow looks absolutely amazing, love all your vids but watching this restore has been amazing....thanks for sharing your journey!
What a way for Buick to end the life of its G-body. I dreamed of having one back when they were new, but someone just out of high school and starting college couldn't afford it. I liked the G-bodies, I had two; a 1978 Regal and a 1980 Grand Prix. Just the basic cars, nothing fancy. Not my dream cars either, that would be the Daytona from Miami Vice, even if it was a replica.
I can truly tell you love that GN. Congrats Alex. I'm hoping it becomes a generation vehicle and forever stays in your family.
Awesome video! Loved the GN from the day it came out when I was 21!

I bought a 2007 Chevy Trailblazer in white that's an LT special edition that has the special 5 spoke 18" aluminum wheels. The 5.3 all aluminum LH6 has about 350 HP after a custom exhaust, air intake mod and custom tune. I have fallen completely in love with this thing over the years since it does everything I need and want a vehicle to do as well as scare the crap out of you if you really get into it. I deleted the roof rack and most people ask me if it's an SS since it sounds so good. They trip out when I tell them no. I don't ever plan on getting rid of it
I can here the happiness in your voice. I feel the same way about my pontiac g8. I cannot wait to do paint correction on it.
Back in the mid 90’s I had a 93 Mustang GT I bought new in spring of 94. It was the centerfold car for the 93 5.0. litre. It was all red, grey cloth, no sunroof & a 5 speed. Anyway I built it up with aluminum heads, custom one off aluminum plenum with a Vortech S-Trim race spec with HD bearings so I could run a cog drive pulley system. The car went 10:58@127MPH with me shifting like no one’s business…😋 10:58 back then which was real quick! I built it all myself. The car was show quality. It never seen snow or rain & I put it away in the winter. Basically just took it out to the local parking lot to hang out, street raced it a bunch & took it to New England Drag Way a couple times. There’s a point to all this, but I had to tell you about my car.😋 Okay, my sister’s boyfriend Josh had a 19k mile mint 87 Grand National & it was impeccably mint. We were anal about our cars, I still am. He went 12:30@104MPH with just a tune & Mickey Thompson sportsman pros. We took it apart & sent the heads out to New Jersey & he was getting a custom cam made from the same place. He bought everything for this car. We put a 13” front brake kit on it (I think Baer?) & of course he bought a huge Garret turbo, I can’t remember the sz? But the entire car was being built for 9’s & again this is 1995, so a real fast car. He was driving home from fishing down the Cape, we’re from New England, he fell asleep at the wheel in his winter beater & he died! Absolutely destroyed our family! It was my sisters first love & they were most likely definitely going to get married. Well I just figured I’d tell you a little story, because obviously I can’t ever see one of these with out remembering my very close friend & was going to be my future brother in law. Such a shame, he was 21 yrs old(💔) Im 48 now & I can’t believe how fast time flys by. His mom wanted me to have his car, but I couldn’t even look at it. She sold it to a couple guys about 8 yrs after he passed. Didn’t wanna bum you out but I love these cars! My cousin Russel has a few, one is in the low 8’s in the 1/4 mile! Good luck with it & I know you take care of your cars. Im still into cars, I have a 630 wheel H.P, black on black 44k original mile, mint, mint 09 BMW 135i with the mighty N54. It’s port & direct injected with twin pure 600’s. It’s gonna get a big single maybe next yr. Sorry for the book, good luck…💪🏻💯🙏🏻🏁
