We Released 1,800 Redfish! Then I Caught Some...

Спорт

In this video, I was invited out to an event where 1,800 juvenile redfish were being released back into the Tampa Bay area thanks to Mote Marine Lab and Salt Strong. ‪@Saltstrong‬ funded a project through Mote to raise and release 30,000 redfish back into the wild to celebrate reaching 30,000 insider members. After showcasing the whole release event, I then show some clips from a couple weeks prior where I caught some redfish using cut bait at low tide on a grass flat.

Thanks for this Brent! This was talked about in the recent Salt Strong Tampa chapter meeting and it’s good to see how it all flowed out! Keep doing the great work, conservation isn’t talked about enough.

This is awesome. I’ve been wanting to join a project like this for years. I’ve been fishing the bay for 30 years and it means so much to my life and my family’s life

Salt strong has really made themselves important in the world of fishing. I bet it felt great to say see ya dude 1800 times 😂. I’m jealous of your fishery. The variety of fish in Massachusetts and Rhode Island salt water is mostly stripers but those are great to eat, and blue fish that I wouldn’t feed my dog. I brought A bluefish home 38” great fight, huge teeth, and I had to kick its ass before it kicked mine. But cutting it up looking at this grey blue meat full of veins had my stomach flip flopping and my wife said 1 word gross and that was it. I buried it in my garden all in small chunks buried below my plants and my entire garden died. Say hi to Jason for me haven’t seen him on in a while. Must be selling a ton of homes!!!

@@Gonefishingtkc I’ll run the boat down to Sarasota, maybe I’ll have better luck. How is fishing from a paddle board? That’s my next purchase

I have one of the Live Watersports brand catamaran style boards, definitely adds a layer of challenge but it’s a stable board and a lot of fun

Haven't caught a redfish in about 6 years since before the big red tides hit Sarasota Bay. 🤞 Hopefully they will come back in big numbers.

Probably my favorite video of yours. While I’m a huge fan of Mote, not a big fan of Salt Strong. Guess I should say I’m not a fan of the typical Salt Strong fan boy I run into. But to see y’all come together on this project is awesome! Keep up the good work
