The shopping cart represents the cage from perception. That’s why he sits in it a lot. The balloons are his burdens he carrys with him everywhere he goes. The end is the idea of trying to let go of some of his burdens but it’s scary to let go of the only thing you’ve ever really known

yes exactly. the whole abandoned amusement park is filled with people who are letting go of a piece of their burdens. you see some people wiping off the smiles. people who threw off the black clothes, people lined up to let go of their burdens, people who have successfully gotten rid of all and people who are still weighed down by it. it was such incredible symbolism

“NF will change your life.” The most brutally honest thing ever said. NF is an artist that comes into your life when you need him and he takes you through the journey of life showing you the way to be more than your mental health. True hero.

You can see the difference between perception and the search how much better he got. Also fun fact all these people in the music video are his fans. Also, no name refers to fame calling and he hung up and called him back with the title song leave me alone, which is why fame said it sucked

Reading comments on "Leave Me Alone" reactions opens up a lot of various concepts on what everything in the video means. The video is so well done that everything is open to interpretation as ART is meant to be. Nate is truly an artist. To me, the idea of Society being a Theme Park rings home. Nothing makes sense and everyone is crazy. The attractions are the things you do to help normalize yourself and make you a part of society. So one will help wipe off your fake smile, the other will help you drop your "black clothing depression" into "white clothing conformity." The people crowd to those who are different than them and try to push them into the direction to make them the same. This really rings home in the "hate to be different, but hate to be normal." He's constantly looking around confused about why he is so different than everyone else, but he doesn't want to take part in the things that would make him the same. Thus he becomes outcast.

    Yo this is an amazing view on the video. Literally took my thoughts and put them into coherent words that I couldn't think of. I became aware of NF right after the hype of Perception died down, around the times of the 'Gods Plan' hype, so I was heavily ridiculed for my newfound love of NF music. But we NF fans don't give a fuck do we? Hell nah. We don't. I would like to add onto this interpretation with my own thoughts on the world NF has created, and more specifically what this song adds to it. I felt as though in the Search, we see what NF perceives the world to be. And more specifically his worldview inside of his head. Like you said, the people in white clothes are those who conform to the everyday life styles and morals of modern society, and the black clothes people are those who do not, whether it be by being mentally ill and seeing life differently or just not believing in the social norms of the 21st century. In Leave Me Alone, we see a sort of conversion camp, where the white clothed people are finishing their acceptance into the masses and the black clothed people who want to conform are trying to change. But obviously we have Nate who is different. He isn't in line with everyone else, he is the outlier, or as we know him, the Outcast. I'm not sure what his cart represents, where it's his body and the balloons are the burdens in which he drags along, or it's the cage he feels he is stuck in, but it is pretty well known that his balloons indicate his burdens. I believe at the end he is going through some inner conflict about letting those two 'burdens' go. We don't see whether he actually hands them away, but I'd like to believe that maybe Nate came to terms with some stuff in his duration at the hospital and those are the metaphorical burdens he was able to let go or move past them. {Side note: if you are mentally ill i.e. depressed, anxious, etc. I know being in a mental hospital or a hospital in general may seem scary, but most of the time the people are trying to help. I've been charged with a 5150 before (a mandatory 72 hour hold so they can determine whether you are mentally safe enough to be in the general public and not a danger to other members of society) and was in a mental facility for about 4 days. It was scary and with all those built up emotions from my actions that led to it, but in the end, speaking with the other patients and finding the right meds I needed to help me get back on track saved my life. I hope you take this into consideration if you are having a rough time, that there are people out there who love and care. I know it hurts, you are scared, or feel like a burden. I won't lie, it usually doesn't go away, but you do learn to manage it. There will be bad days, but it is okay to have bad days, as long as you don't allow those days to hinder your progress. If you really want to do something about it that, in all honesty, most likely won't work, think about your loved ones first. Just do it, think how they will feel. I know everyone says that, but take it from me, the looks on their faces when they find you, it's worse than anything you feel. Just think and say something. It will get better. Sorry for the rant.}

I love this music video so much. Just to start, all the extra people are not actors. He posted on social media asking for fans to “apply” and then his team did like a raffle thingy for it. So all the people in this video other than Nathan are fans 🥰 I’ve heard so many cool stories about the whole experience. The video was also shot in an abandoned amusement park. This song is one of my favorite NF songs and I’m so happy to see you guys love it as much as I do. I can’t wait for you guys to get to Trust feat Tech 9

We consider Why, The Search and Leave Me Alone as "the trilogy". The cage was in the background of The Search, so the shopping cart is his mind again...more portable as he is out looking for answers. That's just my opinion. The whole song is him telling his doubts/burdens to leave him alone. Plus he's explaining the OCD diagnosis to fans. So much in this song! #NF 😎

Yes, whenever a phone rings, it is Fame, aka Satan. Satan = temptation. Ref: Intro II “….Satan keeps calling, he’s trying to flirt. I hang up the phone, these are more than just words.” This specific storyline plays out further on the Clouds Mixtape, with the song Trust. NF shares how he keeps Satan at bay, by starving his own ego. 😉

My opinon: the shopping cart is representing the cage and his mind, balloons are all of his burdens, in this album he is learning to step outside of the cage ( open the door) and he is on a journey to try and find himself and during the journey get rid of all his burdens, which turns out to be alot hard task, and he drags around the cage and keeps it close to him so when he starts feeling anxious, scared , or fear takes over, he can climb back into it , his safe space

K done! I KNEW YOU GUYS WOULD LOSE IT OVER THIS! I still get chills multiple times watching and listening to this! A major note behind this album is that previous to releasing this, Nate had been in a mental hospital and had battled with suicidal thoughts very heavily. The entire album is sort of his dark and deep journey through all of that. Some were even written in the hospital (The song Nate being one of them). I feel like this video was sort of his take on his journey in the hospital and how they were telling him to let go of burdens and all the therapy. I think at the end that might be his therapist possibly, and he was letting two go through the therapy but ultimately he still has so many.

I hadn’t thought of it this way before and I love this perspective. As well, I didn’t know he went to a mental hospital, good for him. One thing I noticed as I was listening to his music, been listening since the first EP, his music forced me to look inside myself and confront all the trauma I had as a child. It was a rough journey, the more I listened to him the worse my mental health became because it forced me to confront everything. I didn’t handle any of it in a healthy way for years, just shoved it down deeper and became suicidal because of it. I finally went to therapy back in 2020. Now when I listen to NF I feel empowered by the struggle I overcame when confronting my past. Best decision I ever made.

Friday made, awesome reaction 😃😁👌🏾. On The Search album he's searching for freedom and that's symbolized by him leaving his cage, the other people changing clothes from black to white, having their fake smiles wiped off, and being in a queue to hand away their burdens. He does hand over two balloons but remains with a bunch other. The hand must be God in my opinion. And yes that phone is Fame still ringing 📞

There is so much imagery to unpack with this video, it is probably his most complex video. His producer is named Tommee Profitt and they have been working together since 2011. I have watched it so many times and I still don't think I have grasped all of it yet. The main thing that sticks out to me is have I think all of the people in the Search and Leave me Alone's videos are his fans. The town represents him seeing his fans giving their fake smiles, and their black clothes, and their burdens away, while he keeps walking through without giving them up. At the end he is showing that he is willing to give a couple of them away showing that he is working on himself. If you notice that at the beginning of the third verse the old man in the shopping cart next to him is the older him in the Let You Down video, he is showing a glimpse of himself in the future if he stays the way he is. At the end of The Search video you see one of his "fans" or someone who has given up their smile, burdens, and black clothes, gives him his white clothes but he still has not put them on yet. I would imagine in a future album he will start wearing a white jumpsuit but that is just me hoping. At least these are things that I have put together myself. The shopping cart I think represents the cage, showing that he still needs that comfort zone but at least he is able to move forward and not be stuck in one place. Hopefully this helps a little, but still all my own opinion and observation.

Fairly new to your channel. Love the reactions! Huge NF fan here. You guys are really entertaining and in your reactions and I appreciate. Back when he did the song No Name, he said that a fan called and he wasn't ready for the fame and attention at the time. As you mentioned in other videos he really loves his fans, but he is sort of a loner and doesn't like all the limelight. He said he will get back to it by album four in the song No Name. This is what he considers album four and this is the song. All the connections that he makes it in his songs with past songs is really incredible. He's truly a lyrical genius! Keep up the great work, very entertaining. As for now, I have some videos to catch up on... 😉

Alot of the NF family have already come through and explained some things but ultimately this music video is a work of art and is open to interpretation and just adds to the mythos that is NF. The entire album is complete fire and I can't wait for your reaction to 'Nate' and 'When I grow up' be warned though, Nate is heavy. I think the beauty of NF videos is that he leaves a lot up to interpretation, if it works for you, then that's what it means. It could mean one thing to one person and another to someone else and yet they're both correct.

Have been waiting so long for you guy's to finally get to this song!!! I'm so happy you went through the journey, so many other reaction channels will have this song and video as like thier second or third NF song ever and they get so lost. So I'm very happy you guy's started at the begin and worked your way up. Really hope you guy's don't skip Returns, it's alot like Real but 3 times better (in my opinion) as other people have said this whole album is so SO GOOD!!

That black scene in the beginning of verse 3...is people that died with their burdens or rather got old with it.. That rickety cart with the old man explains it... Then when the song was building.. He has to go back to daylight again to try and get things right on time...... NF is a extraordinary

His beats are really just so amazing and original, i love that. Before, i really didn't like any rap music but since i first listened to Therapy Session, the first one i've ever heard from him, i knew he was something else. Now he is my number one Artist and i love every song he makes. How i never heard from him before, i don't know, but i am so glad i found him. His music helped me a lot since then and surely still will in the future. Have fun and enjoy the rest of the NF journey, it gets even better the farther you go

This one was filmed in the abandoned six flags new Orleans. All the people are fans. There was a call out for fans in the area to be in the video. I wish I could have been!

Yesssss!!! Love this song!! The meaning of the video is often debated, some people believe the people in white are getting over their " burdens" and it's a good thing and want NF to out on the white clothes while others believe the people in white are just masking their burdens to fit in with society and NF sticks out like a sore thumb because he doesn't not mask anything no matter how unpopular that can make him. You decide what you see depicted in NF's art. Now please keep in mind while you check out the rest of this album that NF had the idea to bring someone inspirational and positive in this album, but he was going to one of his worst cases of depression while writing and doing this album. But keep in mind " Clouds the mixtape is a polar opposite. Don't worry not giving anything away

The shopping cart is the jail or cage from the perception album. It was also in the background of the search and the shopping cart is just a mobile version of it to represent that even though he's out of the cage and walking around, he still feels that cage is with him at all times and he can get comfortable going back in when he needs to.

Well dang it guys you’ve made me have to subscribe. I was watching these out of order because I’ve done the journey many times and I wanted to check out your other reactions like metal and so forth because I’m a huge metalhead myself, not into hip-hop except that I absolutely adore and love NF and swear he changed my life. But honestly, even after watching probably hundreds of these reactions I’m gonna have to retake the journey again because I absolutely love your guys reaction to NF so I guess metal will have to wait. Lol and I’m going to have to subscribe, ha ha great job guys
