Same exact story with my dad in 86 with the red Sox, with the red Sox up by two runs, my dad, before retiring to bed announced " they are gonna blow it" and I laughed, told him he was a fool, that even if they lose tonight,they can still win game seven, he rored with laughter and said ok, good night ..... And you know how that game 6 against the Mets ended

As a child who lived through the Bruins Oilers finals I felt the same way. Pessimists are built, not right. I know a Boston sports fan is privileged now but man I spent so long as a pessimist that winning felt wrong. Open to the light. I promise it can help even the darkest valleys eventually. Of course my great aunt worked for Yawkey until she like 80 and didn't get to see it so I guess we never really know :/

I had picked the Leafs to win game seven 4-1 after watching Toronto win games 5 and 6. I thought the Bruins were tired and Toronto would skate them off the ice, which they rather did for the first 50 minutes and then thought about the fact that they were up by 3 with less than half a period to go.

Well I mean just because they haven’t won anything doesn’t mean they have nothing memorable. Take for instance the 1978 playoffs where the Leafs would upset the heavily favoured Islanders thanks to Lanny McDonald, or the 1993 playoffs upset they pulled over the Red Wings, The goal Gilmour got on CuJo in game 1 against the blues, How they once were last in the playoff standings back in the day but still won it all, the time where they upset the Red Wings in the finals coming back from a 3-0 series deficit, Hell you could even add a more recent one in the game where they clinched the playoffs by defeating the penguins. But everyone has to pay attention to the memes and not on anything else they’ve done in their whole franchise career.

The analysis on Lucic's play to keep possession to set up the fourth goal proves that these guys truly understand the game, not just dudes pretending to be someone they're not. Gotta love the versatility of every sport, even collegiate. Love watching this channel.

Sens fan but it needs to be done. An epic series with the end result not being what I wanted but still one of the best playoff series and games I've seen in a while

G7 of the 2009 Stanley Cups of Pens-Wings had an all time great save that a rewind could talk about esp since it was a rematch of the 08 stanley cup with almost a similar situation at the end of the game

Patrice is one of my favorite players ever. He looked like he was destined to retire early due to concussions and ends up being a grizzled vet that looked like he would never stop playing... And winning. Great person and story.

I have an Idea for a rewinder video, Champions League final 2013 Bayern Munich vs Borussia Dortmund, Arjen Robbens Goal in the 89th minute. It was the peak of the rivaly between these teams and it's pretty important für Bayern Munich, because they lost the final the year before

Just seeing this now and I absolutely love how you built this video and go back in time and then to the present moment you are showing. Awesome story telling!

It’s sad really. I’m a die hard Bruins fan but I don’t want to see any team. struggle that badly.

As a Leafs fan, this was one of the most painful moments ever. But as a hockey fan in general also....this was one of the most epic Game 7s in playoff history. What a comeback by the Bruins as well. And from there they marched all the way to the Cup Final and even went ahead 2-games-to-1 on Chicago, but then the Blackhawks wound up delivering their own bit of playoff magic in the end.......#17Seconds

My god this was 8 years ago feels like more I love watching your videos and looking back at history especially for the NBA and the NFL keep going

There's so much drama for the Blue Jackets that season and the footage of John Tortorella during that series is unreal. The last 5 seconds gave me chills. I was watching that game w my kids, who happened to be playing hockey at the ripe ages of 6 and 10. We were sitting there watching, and I kept reminding them that "its not over!" We were all devastated to see them actually down after leading the series. And to see my kids to the point of not wanting to watch anymore, kinda made me start to lose faith in their possible love for the game. The lucic goal, then boychuck goal happened, and I can still see the look on their faces when they realized that I was right. Its not over! Then o.t. ... its a whole new game and the momentum was on the B's side. We were on the edge of our seats when the puck was being slapped around in front of the leafs goal. Then, out of nowhere,Bergeron came into the frame, and the infamous goal happened. We lost our minds when it happened. The kids were so overjoyed. There mother and I were at no regard for their bedtimes. It was all worth it. The boys then started taking practice shots in the driveway. Shouting "Bergeron " like a basketball player would shout "Kobe" while taking a shot. It is one of my most fondest memories. And I'll never forget it. "Go B's!".

This picked a great time to find its way to my feed as a boston fan

I remember i was in the 6th grade when this game happened. My family are huge Leafs, and Canucks fans, so facing the team that we had all cheered against in the finals just a year ago, was something that perhaps we could extract revenge for. Me and my family sat in the living room, and my eyes were glued to the game, and i’ll never forget two things about that goal. 1. My feeling when the bruins scored. Its like someone had somehow managed to drain all life outta me, to leave me a husk. I was both shocked, angered and saddened. Another year, another dissapointment from Toronto. 2. The look on my fathers face, a life long leafs fan. His face, pained with the same feelings that shared, quickly pit his hands over his face, than rose to go get another beer. My father drank a lot that night, way more than usual. I dont blame him. Even 8 years later the maple leafs are still owned by boston in the same way Cleveland owned Lebronto throughout the mid 2010’s.

@@TransAth that and as a fan of the Ducks I feel it was a much bigger collapse than any other nhl team in the last 15-20 years from 2013-2017 the years they won their division they could’ve easily won the cup so to go from that to a bottom five team in just a couple seasons is just crazy

@@Nick_Simpson007 that string of game 7 losses was pretty remarkable, and ya, they dipped quickly and significantly once the peak has passed.

@@TransAth To add insult to injury all 4 of those series they were up 3-2 in the series but out of all of them the Chicago series hands down hurt the most out of the 4 it was easily their best chance to win another cup and they lost 2 games in that series that required multiple overtime’s

Oh a bunch of the comments would just be about he was wearing a buzzer. Which that was never proven and was just some crazy rumor the media started and everyone ate into it. (Not an Astros fan btw)

As a bruins fan everytime I see this moment or remember this moment I get chills such a amazing game nothing but chills, and I got to see Toronto blow it to Boston multiple times fantastic

2004 ALCS, Game 7 against the Leafs, and 28-3.

Got recommended this... Funny that, because IT HAPPENED AGAIN.

One of my all time favorite moments in Bruins history.

A great video would be you guys doing a rewind on the Tampa Bay Lightning cup run from last year...how that core stayed together through all the pain, embarrassment and choking to finally win it all...

Another leaf’s bruins game 7 and this gets recommended to me.

I was at the game in the 2011 eastern conference finals where Seguin scored twice and I was certain I was watching the future of the franchise. It's unfortunate how things worked out but damn did he show flashes of brilliance back then.

I might be a Golden Knights fan now, but the Bruins are my hometown team, and seeing this in my notifications brought a big smile to my face. Apologies to all Leafs fans in the comments; y'all have suffered for so long, and I wish your team success in the future. Just... not against Boston or Vegas.

As a still Bruins fan, just gotta say I'm really impressed by VGK and how quickly I came to see them as a fitting part of the NHL. Wishing them luck moving forward... just not against Boston haha

I remember watching this game as a Rangers fan, we ran a train on the 3 seed Caps in what had been a tense and thrilling series. I was elated, I tuned in to this game as it was 4-1 in the 3rd. This game took the wind out of me. My only stakes in the series was who we were playing in the next round, yet this was still so crushing to watch.

Luckily for Toronto they don't have to lose to Boston in 7 games in round 1 this year
