    It's not the RTS background that carried him through the top. It's his positive mindset matched with studying the technical aspect of Dota that gave him this Rank. Heralds in the comment section should stop coping.

    His best hero is naga with a high win rate. Sure his rts background helps alot when it comes ro microing. But still, Grubby is gifted with pma and thr right approach to the game he can surely rank up. 10 games a day will pay off paited with pma mindset.

    I can say with confidence that thanks to Grubby's endless positivity and genuine eagerness to improve on the game, it has kept me motivated to get better at the game and rise up to the ranks myself and finally hitting Immortal a week ago. I hope Grubby gets there too. It's an achievement I put a lot of pride on but if Grubby pulls it off, it would be a monumental achievement accomplished fully on stream of one Dota player that started from literally knowing nothing to in just more than a year hitting Immortal. I wish him the best of luck that he succeeds 👍

    @@daimaru03 SEA as well. I'd like to think I'm PMA and perhaps a little too tryhard coz I can't recognize when games are unwinnable and still try to keep struggling. Strictly a solo q player but I do occasional party with strangers I played with the previous game that we did well. Advice to gain rank is play best of 3 or 5 and stop playing for a while if you win or lose 2 or 3 games. Also please mute everyone on the enemy team at the start of the game. You have nothing to gain interacting with them. Focus on your own game. And lastly limit your hero pool to 3-6 per role. This will sharpen your skills with those heroes if you keep playing them.

    @imfinishedgrinding638 yeah i kinda learned it the hardway that u cant win all games no matter how good u play coz of some teammates i had a game when our carry died once and he throw after even though his death was all good since our lead was so big by that time he just decided to throw anyways will keep this in mind thanks for the advice! imma to be ancient or legend atleast i think that's my peak

  • @imfinishedgrinding638

    @imfinishedgrinding638

    @@daimaru03 But being PMA alone isn't going to be enough. It would help you get to Legend or barely Ancient and getting better at last hitting, at the very least 50-55 at starting 10 min, at minimum will get you to Ancient but better farming efficiency(170-200 by 20 minutes)and good lane control is what will help you reach Divine and mastery of your hero on top of all the others I listed is what will help you get to Immortal where everyone tryhards and only picks either meta heroes or heroes we're very comfortable with. That's how pos 1 carries are rated imho but I'm afraid I do not know how exactly do support heavy players get to Immortal or climb in ranks. I'm not bad at it but it's certainly not my best role. I barely play 4 would rather play 5 coz I understand what the carry needs being a pos 1 player myself.

    I'm not surprised if Grubby going to be dota pro in the next one or two years, the similiar case happen with TSM.Ari, former #1 rank Heroes of the Storm in Europe, switched to Dota 2 in 2019, took him 2 years to get 9K MMR and 11K in the next year. I agree these former pro player has the advantage to adapt quickly in the game with their previous experience, but I'm 100% sure in dota they still need time to mastering the mechanical and all the details, even for the pro, still took years lol.

  • @Test-mq8ih

    It's definitely not a fair comparison tho, Ari is already a top player in HOTS which is a moba game, yes Grubby used to play HOTS too but as far I aware (correct me if I'm wrong) he wasn't a top player there, lot of pros in the old day also a top player in another moba game like HoN before dota 2 out, calling grubby will become a dota 2 pro player like Ari is stretching a bit too much tbh

    @@farrel_ra 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 This is exactly the reason why you are low rank forever. Yes your performance is the issue, but you are blind and all you see is fault in team mates. No my friend, If you are good player, you will win most games i mean more than 50% and therefore you will climb up. As you said, it's not your performance problem, then it is. You are missing self-criticism which holds you back. Some games has griefers, but it is either in enemy team or your. You can't do nothing but if you belong to higher rank, you will be climbing. I was Divine 4 at my peak, after 3 years of break when i could not even click, and i started immediately playing ranked 🤣i callibrated like Crusader 1 or what, but in 1 month i was Ancient 4 then deleted again because i started being addicted 🤣 If your performance is exceptional you will have 60-75% winrate, if you are at 50% it means you are at rank you belong to, if you are below 50% it means your performance is worse than average on this mmr. It is also very important to keep positive mindset in game, if you start blame game with ur team mates, it will affects ur winrate too. However, if you want blame someone, then blame enemy team, tip them and make fun of them, this actually work.

After 10 years of understanding the ideology of the game even eith rusty spellcasting you can average out at archon. Just by being in the right spot at the right time.

But even if I was being a tryhard, the one thing I never forget is to always have fun and having genuine love for the game. Some games your team can have smurfs, enemy team have smurfs, you get bad teammates or poor performing players, enemy team gets bad teammates/poor performing players. The trench isn't real brother. Get better, win the ez 40% games without throwing, shrug off and don't let the 40% loss stomps get to you and most importantly play the 20% close impact games to the absolute limit and aim to win it as much as possible even against players seemingly performing better than you on some or a lot of aspects.

Yes playing meta heroes help make climbing easier but a good mix of improving on micro(e.g. last hitting, lane control, farm efficiency, spellcasting)and macro(map movement and proper shotcalling, proper warding, power spikes and timings, objective timers like Rosh and Tormentors)will net you a lot of mmr. I envy him tbh, idk him before he enters Dota streaming scene. But his RTS background does really help I think.. now his medal are higher than me with 7k hours game (Divine 1). Idc if he got help, since it's his benefit from being famous. Just hope he stays positive and keeps away from illegal activity in Dota like smurf etc.

    delusional low rank that does not want to improve in the game... if you pay attention, Grubby is ACTIVELY trying to learn the game while playing, asking questions, something very little other people can do, because they are so focused on their teammates fucking up they dont see their own mistakes. If he was being smurfed there would be a point where he would start losing mmr. But thats not happening. So youre point is absolutely worthless and actually speaks more about your own personality then anything.

    @@ratovicius1nobody can deny he's good. He's a pro in other games also. So why are people not comparing him to the likes of rtz abed or maybe atf? Those pros became immortal at a much shorter time. He should fight with them, not casual plebs like the average player lol

    @@kingseiryu929 Bro, he's a bit old and didn't start Dota at a young age unlike those you mentioned. In fact he dismissed Dota and considered it an inferior low skill game back then when he was still younger and a pro at multiple RTS games. But the rate of his improvement is still unprecedented and is a spit to the face to all those people who are disillusioned believing the forced 50/50 and whatnot that helped him climb easily is real.
