My son went with an Sport scholarship for football with 4 Big Ten schools wanting him, but the president of the college had him switched to an Academic scholarship because he stayed on the president list his entire freshman year with a 4.0. Also he informed us that if our son was to get injured and unable to play he would lose the scholarship because those scholarships are meant for active players. Thank God for that school president. After his second year Michigan State University offered him a full ride Academic scholarship and he received his Master Degree and became the Academic Advisor for the school’s Sports Department. He still has a offer on the table with Michigan State University to complete a Doctorate with a full scholarship if he chooses to attend.

Scholarships are very much needed for young people to go into college and complete their studies. Young people at my church just returned from a college tour in Florida. We also give scholarships to young people at my church. Glad to see little Jaxon having fun exercising on his trampoline. My son has partially the same first name as your son only his first name is hyphenated; his name is Stephen-Michael (the closest male name I could get to my mother's name of Stella Mae), he's 24 yr old next month, and finishing up college online after campus study before pandemic. Blessings to your son, Donna, and to your wonderful family.

I did that with my child after his junior year of high school. And I wish I had transferred him a year earlier from a great school honor roll and he went to a school that did not have as much as the school he was leaving had. They did not understand it for us either. He only needed a few credits so he had got what he needed. The other kids at the new school were behind in grades and trying to play catch up. I just felt that he would have a better opportunity for a football scholarship but he did not get a scholarship for football but him being placed there put him at number 25 or 30 on the list of all the kids. academics is the scholarship he got. We had to pay almost nothing when he first started and the second semester and up til now. We don’t pay anything except money for him and now that he is getting an apartment we will be paying.
