Yellow seems like a good traditional narrowboat colour - great choice. Ciara you are a natural actor, you would have made a wonderful East End trollop, just watch out for dark alleys and blokes known as Jack.

Dear Izzie, Ciara and Lavender, Think my comment got deleted as I had included a couple of links, oh well here it is again. First just love the yellow. Why?? Because it compliments the wood and the greens. I think that you mentioned a few videos ago that cleaning up the exterior paint on Lavender was in the job jar. Yesterday I watched a video by a couple of boaters who did that to their boat. The end result was amazing!! How they got the polished look was by using a colour restorer/buffing compound, and then they used a polish. Have you heard of a 100 year old canal barge by the name of Word on the Water? It is a floating book shop located on the Regents Canal at Kings Cross. Big hugs to all three of you, and do be careful that you don't get to sun burned as the sun does reflect off the water. Open Lavender up and let all of that wonderful sunshine and warmth in. Mark Alberta, Canada

Hello Mark! So happy you like the yellow, we have decided we like it a lot too! Just needed to adjust the change of colour after having it as dark wood for SOO long! I would love for us to polish up the outside of the boat, maybe a job for when we aren't double moored as I would almost certainly fall in lol. We have heard of Word on the Water but haven't visited (yet) but will definitely add it to the list of places to visit. Sun has all gone away now so no risk of being burnt to a crisp for the time being. Have a lovely week - Izzie x

Grandmama certainly is talented. The yellow creates an excellent vibe , and I sense you are developing a boat of themed rooms. Which I so get. It means you can move to an area that meets how you feel. An escape mechanism as it were. The mop hat is a classic, love the look, though not the period or the way we were treated. As to a nice summers day drink, I'd have to say cold filtered water in the day, and something like a chilled BrewDog Hazy Jane IPA, in the evening. Hi Erin! Hope you had a lovely week. We also think my Grandma is incredibly talented. We definitely have themes, but try not to stick too much to set colours and go for whatever we feel fits the vibe of the space. Ciara likes an IPA although we don't tend to have them too often as they are a fair bit pricier and Ciara doesn't mind the cheap stuff! Always release the insects! 🏳‍🌈🏳‍⚧

haha i’m a sucker for a museum costume too! 😅 Gutted we missed this museum when visiting! but good to know it’s there now thanks for sharing 😊

Happy Sunday, Ciara and Izzie. You had a lovely week on Lavender Lee and I am tickled to have gone along on your adventures. Well done on the decorating, Ciara. I for one don’t like to paint, but Jodi is our secret weapon as she does enjoy painting inside the house. Izzie, thank you for sharing more of your grandma’s artwork. Hello Tim! We had a lovely week, and had a lot of fun at the Docklands Museum. The decorating was a lot of hard work and fun and I can't wait to finally get to some of the other jobs on the boat. We love having my Grandma's artwork up, we are very lucky that it is in our home. We do love all the opportunities living in London provides, there is always something interesting to do. I think keeping the boat in the water probably keeps it a bit cooler, but its hard to tell as the metal that is not in the water gets SOOO hot. We have invested in a tower fan which helps quite a lot! Thank you so much for another lovely comment, hope you are doing well, and look forward to chatting next week! - Izzie x

Hello! Thank you so much for your lovely comments about the music. We love our home, and making it more ours and making all our changes. We only had specific time off and so tried to make use of it by painting despite the heat. We had a lovely pride month thanks, but didn't actually manage to go to any events this year, oh well! The yellow is lovely, particularly with the green window dressings! I think it's quite striking, and a beautiful choice. The museum experience was fun too. Favorite summer drink? In the heat of a Chesapeake Bay summer in the US, it's a club soda (or sparkling water) over ice with a splash of cranberry or pomegranate juice - so refreshing in the heat! Oh, and the trash...the amount of trash we collect from the rivers, bays, and the ocean is so disheartening!

It remains to be seen whether the curtains will be staying, as Ciara has quite a passionate dislike for them, but I quite like them- I think we would go for a green curtain anyway but maybe of a different fabric if we changed. My favorite bevvies are a blackberry G & T (muddled blackberries) and plain seltzer with a squeeze of lemon. I like your bold paint colors. I think they look great together. The bohemian vibe is cozy and welcoming.

The yellow is lovely! it's my favourite wall colour, it's so positive and brightening, something i seek. I'm amazed by how changeable colours are, in my daughter's north-facing room the yellow varies from bright to greenish in different light (f+b yellowcake ebay find). I like to use different yellows on different walls. Colour is so personal, as with anything. It's a natural inbuilt response to care about what 'the herd' think and to find criticism hard to bear, and the more sensitive you are the more impact it has on your nervous system. I have found it very helpful to realise this, that it is a primitive part of our brain to feel impacted by such things and not a weakness. You're very bravely showing your life, it must be stressful as people are so opinionated on the internet and worse. You might use it like exposure therapy to try to care less and so protect yourselves (or reduce the impact of caring) as there is so much toxicity out there. Worth looking into. You do you, you're great and what you're sharing is very valuable (in my opinion!), I loved looking round the museum, and the crow print! Look after yourselves :)

I (Izzie) definitely worry what other people think and struggle with negative comments more! Its very reassuring to know that it is just a part of how our brains work. Well, I love the yellow. I’m all for a bit of colour in life and I bet it will look fab with the tiles when they’re up. Lovely vlog. I always look forward to your vlog and you always make me smile. My favourite refreshing summer drink is bitter lemon, which I struggle to get in pubs these days. Feverfew lemon tonic works ok as a substitute. I also love a little glass bottle of proper coke, with a slice of lemon in. I can’t understand the obsession with putting ice in every darn drinks though. Is that just in the UK, I’m wondering. Lovely viewing and I loved ciara’s dressing up 😂. Ooh and happy pride month 🌈🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

Thank you Moomin! Love you lots, I take after you in terms of liking lots of colour everywhere. I also like a bitter lemon but definitely didn't like it when I was younger, but I guess tastes change. The US loves ice more than everyone, the UK is famously uses much less ice. I like ice especially in the summer and not too much. xxx

Painting looks great 😊 Yellow is not an easy colour, I painted the same room three times (one coat after another) when I lived in Blighty, until we got the right shade 😲 'Mustard Jar' looks just fine to me! Love the colour! I have a similar accent colour with soft furnishings in my living room. I’m currently moving all my stuff out of the living room and dining room ready for new flooring 😢it’ll be worth it. How much does a new water tank cost? I don’t like the idea of you having a rusty one ❤

I should have clarified in the video! We don't drink from our tank, only shower/washing up and watering plants from it! But we would love to save up for derusting, as ours is difficult to get to I think it could be as much as £800 if we went to a marina. Maybe we could do it ourselves- who knows!
