Yeah, but would the community be ok with an ice cream truck? Or any food truck? Where I’m from, the yuppie neighbors don’t like ice cream trucks. Or elote carts, or paleta carts. Restaurants get touchy about food trucks and don’t want them anywhere near them, so in my city, the food trucks are stuck being open for a few months in the summer, maybe, and mostly near City Hall. Sometimes they show up at city festivals, but it’s not guaranteed.

This is entirely speculation, but I think the obvious reason as to why this is shutting down is because the business isn’t making money. If you have a profitable and successful business you can afford to hire people to manage things for you, you don’t just shut down. And by the way, there’s nothing wrong with an unsuccessful business venture, most successful entrepreneurs have had at least one failed venture, you learn a LOT of valuable information with hindsight. If bad financials was the reason he’s shutting down, I hope he learns from the experience

I bet that's the reason. The truth is a lot people think having your own business is easy and profitable. Most of the time people who have worked under other people and thought they had better ideas or work ethics or were just better people. However the worst thing is when you cannot let go, your dream becomes your Cage and prison. Speaking from Experience 😅

As well as comments commenting on the staff and even the owner (person recording) looking upset or unapproachable. Some say that the staff would get super upset if you’d asked to have the Ice Cream thrown. So clearly it was a bigger reason, however because of that big reason, customers don’t want to consume your product anymore so you make no money.

Dont give up! Im sure you can reflect on all this and find stuff that went wrong or bad. NYC is extremely cutthroat unfortunately. Sometimes though, its more about the timing, than anything you did. I have a sneaking suspicion that in 2-3 years time, conditions will be better for a hypothetical ice cream shop. Till then, keep afloat, keep building yourself, and keep positive!
