Since he’ll be 18 in only two days, I wanted to share an interesting fact about Ikaika: Shortly after he was born in 2002, there was a poll taken on SeaWorld’s website with five naming options. One of them was “Ramius”, after Sean Connery’s character in The Hunt for Red October. (Probably because he shares Sir Sean’s birthday.)

Master Player2.0 yea but they can’t because the orcas are now used to being in captivity not in the ocean and they cannot hunt because the whales have been hand fed for years

They have stopped breeding and capturing orcas. But i agree that they should free them. But they have to teach the orcas how to hunt and other stuff.

Valentina Shortshield okay, i get what your coming from but they cant let them go. because they would probably die, just like keiko did. and also, the whales that were born into captivity won’t survive at all. even if she or hes with its family. they have never experienced the wild before, so in my opinion i dont think its a good idea

Yes they do, but it's an egoistic love. And when SW decides something, the trainer's cannot do anything. Like taking calfs.away from their mum's and all these nice SW things.

@@castlebrookstables4611 I know these trainers love the animals, everybody can see this. But it's the captivity what I am against. This is the last generation of orca's in the US, but they don't need so suffer. SW is a 2, 5 Billion USD company and could easily afford building a rehabilitation center for these hybrid whales. With a huge pool and a sea pen, so that they can be killer whales. A sea pen with human care and vet care, but they could feel the ocean again and maybe live to their normal life span of 80 (female) or 60 (male) years. SW's CEO is just narrow minded, they would habe tax breaks for building these things, people could watch the orcas in their natural habitat and SW would be heros. But anyway there are already sanctuaries and I want them 5o give the whales to these places. Because they are hybrids, they would never make it in the wild. But all these sick behaviors of the whales and daulphins would be away. Look at the Keiko story: he was thriving in this pool and sea pen in Iceland. But there are some in the US who would take the animals. If the CEO is not smart enough, because with their good name the stockmarket prize would go up again, than let somebody else make these orcas and daulphins happy.

Actually in 2017, He was born in August of 2002( Im not sure of the date).

🙄🙄Of course they have eyes. They are even able to look in every direction no matter if they swim forward or are half "sitting" (it's all natural) on the stage they see everything.

@Emma’s Roblox channel lmao YOU’RE wrong. Wild orcas are lucky to make it past their first birthday, the actual life expectancy is 25-30, SeaWorld has been researching that, not many orca biologists. So maybe do actual research before commenting.

@@dolphinetlywhales3786 although orcas have about a 50/50 chance of living past the age of 1, their life expectancy is about 50-80 years in the wild, sometimes living up to 90-100+. not one orca in captivity has died of old age, and only 1 captive-born orca has lived past the age of 30

You would be surprised. Cetaceans go ballistic over the simplest of human objects. You can find videos of Bottlenose dolphins going crazy over humans playing with slinkys for example.

You do realize that killer whales make a lot of different vocals and this are some of them. They preform these vocals he has many other vocals. Just because he is not in the wild doesnt mean he isnt still making wild orca vocals. Each orca pod also has their own vocals that they communicate with so he is using his pods vocals.

@@dhshwhshrudhehehe8102 They are hybrids. They don't exist in the wild. Of course they have vocalizations, I guess some mix from their mothers, IF they even can communicate with each other??? These animals are so intelligent, it's a crime to hold them in captivity where they only live half their life span. SW is of course lying about it but fact is: female in the wild 80 (some are even over 100 years), males 60 to 80.years.And that's for all orcas Resident and Transient.

I love orcas. At least this Seaworld isn’t cruel to their animals

They are still living in a fish bowl for life!!!! So maybe if you spend the rest of your life in a cage even though u did nothing to end up there we will find you a nice cage. Dose that make it better
