I'm a child of the 70s also and back then I'll parents dance with us and it didn't make a difference how old you were,, even the performers was of all ages, back then you could have a long career,, not now, Oh and the cookouts and the partys with the Soul Train line was the bomb💣💣(Sure your right).🎶🎵🎶LOVE,PEACE & SOUL

There was a time when you would find 30, 40 and 50 year old men with teenage and 20 year old women and people didnt blink and please know, older women in their 30s and 40s often kept company with guys in their teens and 20s as well. This was common in black communities as in others. Society only pretended to care when young white girls would show interest in older black male celebrities like Chuck Berry or Sam Cooke.

Yes. It should be. I loved watching Soul Train on Saturday mornings. Just to see classy, sassy ladies and oh so cool dudes getting down with the dance moves was alright. Its funny because people still do the soul train line at parties.

At 71 I miss soul train and the great performances with people like Rufus Thomas and others but it's 2024 thank God for u-tube ❤❤🎉🎉

Rufus was the man! Proven that age was nothing but a number !! He was funky and a man of dance!! Soul Train had it going on back in those days!! Glad I grew up back then!!♥️😍☺️

I love my black people we just so beautiful them black were so beautiful back in 70s I wish I was born back than I love the clothes and dancing 😍❤️❤️😍

Rufus Thomas is so funky even the Soul Train sign was movin to the groovin especially at 2:24 ! Great performance by the grandfather of funk, Rufus has proven you're never too old to be funky and he certainly cut a lot of real cool funky dance grooves during his career!

Bobby as Rufus Thomas Academy Award goes to Bobby Brown 🏆👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😄👍well done Bobby

It's crazy how all the dancers are in sync with each other!!! My pops was lucky as hell to be around during them days!! He said the late 60's and throughout the 70's were his best years as a teen/young adult. He had alot of fun!

He switched from entertainment to crowd control in a heart beat. I noticed in a few of his performances he was always scanning the crowd. I think he's just a natural father.

I watched Soul train faithfully every Saturday morning , as a little girl, I learned how to dance from this show, so many good memories.

Back when Soul Train actually had soul!💞. Also, older artists were respected and acknowledged; a practice that desperately needs to be reinstated, because today they are relying on these awful kids, manufactured by Disney and talentless hack producers! That's why music today sucks so bad! Soul Train is a classic, and its legacy will outlive us all.🎶🎙🎶📻.

Slowly black people were pulled apart. We help each other more. As a 6 year old kid I was lost playing outside the area the neighborhood got together and looked for me. I still remember that.
