It’s because you stopped while the rubicon was shifting down. All you need to do is push while shifting down until it goes into neutral every time that happens. I used to ride one and it used to do it all the time.

The shift issue is the angle position sensor, have had the same issue with my 420

If you start having problems with the ES I remember I used to reset mine by turning the key off and on really fast with out the four wheeler dyeing and it would reset it
