WE PICKUP A SPECIAL NEW PROJECT (A 1957 FORD RANCHERO)
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
When we were visiting my parents and picking up their Lincoln to bring back. We got a chance to see my dads 1957 Ford Ranchero that he's restoring for the last couple years. My dad is a combat wounded Marine veteran that is still carrying around shrapnel in his body from when he was wounded in Vietnam. Around the time my dad started this restoration/build, he was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease which is connected to his exposure to Agent Orange while in Vietnam.
Due to the Parkinson's, it became to dangerous for my dad to continue to work in the garage on his Ranchero. So after moving to Boise ID, they contracted out the finishing of the Ranchero to a gentlemen in Idaho. Unfortunately after taking quite a bit of their money, the car wasn't finished and they dropped it off at their garage.
There's numerous things not finished with the car that I'll go more into in a future video. But we talked it over with my parents and they agreed to let us bring it back to our shop to try and finish the car so they can enjoy it.

am also a disabled Nam vet (Army) with AO related problems. (spent 3 months at a VA hosp in Menlo Park 1990 for PTSD, 1980, restored a 57 Rachero. bought a pretty warm 302 from friend with totaled Mustang (cheap!) and luckily found a Rachero in decent shape, engine (272, bad, sold 302 and rebuilt stock Y block., been in barn for 7 yrs. Always loved 57 Fords! Been a Mopar guy for years. repainted Colonial White, looked like yours , regret ever selling it. here a somewhat similar story am having a "peaceful flashback " right now!!! Well wishes for your dad!😎

Thank you for sharing your story, I’ll pass it on to my father. Thank you for service!!!
Just liked and subscribed. We owned and drove a 59 Ranchero for a few years. It had a really good heater. Ours had the 223 six three on tree and 355 rear gears. We had to replace the timing chain. And the clutch went bad. So we installed a larger 11 inch flywheel and clutch. We intended to install a 352 FE . however we sold it before we got around to it.

Thanks for watching & subscribing. We still have quite a bit of work to do on the car. Thanks for the comment as well!
I appreciate the video 👍 I myself am restoring a 57 ranchero and it’s so hard to find any videos on that car so it was really helpful to see the pictures. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for more cause I’m always looking for References

It’s great to see all of the different styles, depending on the owner. I agree to keeping as much of the original style and improving on some of it along the way. I’m doing this one the way my father wants it done to the best of my abilities. Thanks for the comment!!!

Hey I have a 1957 Ranchero of my own that I got from my grandpa. We got brakes and steering rebuilt but no floor pan, noticed at 11:53 you have pictures of some fresh ones! Do you know where I could find those? I've been searching but it only shows for other years of Ranchero.

I have a 58 Del Rio ( basicly 2dr wagon version of ranchero) I used EMS panels a little pricey against Chinese versions, but the EMS panels actually fit vs the kind fit chinese stuff......save yourself time and labor use the ones that fit.
It’s December 2022 what’s going on with this project?

Still working on it, should have another video coming out soon. Wife's Lincoln has the notorious Triton timing adjuster failure so I need to address that before more severe engine damage is done, we are getting a back up vehicle ready for her while I'm working on it. Thanks for watching!
How could anyone ruin fk up a classic gauges look like 3rd grader installed And incorrect engine .. I would love to put it thru my shop back to normal 312 y block
